(okay, before we get into Donna Troy and her backstory in this I should give a little clarification this is for non-comic readers because I feel like you need to understand why I decided to play "Choose your own backstory for her"

Publication history:Wonder girl as a character pre dates Donna Troy by several years.

Wonder girl was Created by doctor William Moulton Marston.

• the polyamorous chainsmoking bondage enthusiast creator of Wonder woman
• Harvard University (AB, LLB, PhD)
• early founder of safe, sane and consensual
• Helped in creating the DICS assessment(which became foundational to S&M which became BDSM)
• Partial creator of the "systolic blood pressure test" , which became one component of the modern polygraph. Also helps with diabetes regulation.
• (This was with a help of his wife Elizabeth Marston, She was The one who suggested in linking blood pressure with emotion)
• His mistress, Olive Byrne (was the niece to Margaret Sanger founder of planned Parenthood)

Dr. Marston Thought that people would be willing to be subjugated if it's by a kind caring dominatrix or Dom. He created Wonder woman because he was laughed out of the scientific field but he still wanted to tell his stories. His wife suggested she'd be a woman (because male superheroes were all Superman clones and this was only 3 years after he was published) ,and the bracelets ( something that the trio used in bondage) became a part of her.

Thus on January of 1942 sensational comics debut Wonder woman! She was a smash success. Getting her own comic run titled Wonder woman!

In May 1947 Wonder Woman #23 :Diana is shown in flashback having adventures as a little girl.

Twelve years later in April 1959's Wonder Woman #105 They brought her back to tell tales of Diana's youth.

(The original Superboy was Clark Kent as a young kid and a baby, bat baby was also a thing. )Look it was a silver age. It was fucking weird but mostly they aged the characters down so that child audiences could relate to it

This was as opposed to using a sidekick to have child audiences relate to the character through the sidekick (this is why Bucky and Robin were invented)

Then more out of continuity stories of Diana's youth and her adventures before leaving the island (indoing so. She left the island and came back but didn't remember it...) This was stories featuring Diana as Wonder girl.

Later she would also get "Wonder tot "(Diana as a toddler)her mother Queen Hippolyta, creating a "Wonder Family".

(Marston was dead before the '50s because of chain smoking)

Anyway, at the time of writing the Wonder family. Absolutely. Nobody had the internet and nobody followed comics continuity. So when a Wonder girl (not Diana,) appeared in Batman:" Brave and the bold#60

They eventually got their own comic series (because child heroes were relatable to children) this team is known as the Fab five, Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, Wally West, Roy Harper and Garth ( Aqualad)

Eventually Donna got her own backstory by Neal Adams. She was rescued by Diana and was raised by Diana's mother.

Teen Titans were relaunched in the 1980s by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. They wrote the story " Who Is Donna Troy?," which expanded her origin story(and added the details of the ancient Greek Titans being involved with her)

And all was well.

Until

"CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS"

• Pro : Rebooted Wonder woman allowing Perez to write a award-winning commercially successful Wonder woman That is still used Foundationally by fans to this day
• Cons: But they made Wonder woman a rookie. Who came after the Justice League was created
• After the Titans were created
• The New Teen Titans (1980s)didn't reboot

So how was Donna Troy becoming Wonder girl? She was still in the Titans. The Titans still had there original backstory intact because they were financially successful

Donna still existed despite Diana being demoted to rookie. New to man's world. This is a paradox Wonder girl cannot exist if Wonder woman is very new to the world of man.

They had to solve this continuity snarl somehow.

So in "who is Wonder girl"(1990 s) They retconed Donna's backstory. Again

• The fire rescue is kept,
• but she was rescued by the Titans of Myth,
• turned into demigoddess and then returned home with fake memories.
• And somehow she became Wonder girl.

This is where she started to take up the name TROIA. (Because she honestly God did not know what was happening)

In who is troia, Titans #25(1990s) another new origin story was created.

• Now, Donna was a mirror reflection of Wonder Woman brought to life to be her friend,
• got kidnapped by Dark Angel, who (thinking that she had kidnapped the real Wonder Woman)
• cursed her to live several traumatic lives.
• She is saved by The Flash and Wonder Woman, and re-adopted by Hippolyta, but with a problem: She is not the "real" Donna, but a new one re-created from the memories of Wally and Diana.
• Then she gets killed by robot Superman.

There she's dead. No more headaches!....

INFINITE CRISIS origin

• Donna's adopted by the Greek Titan
• became goddess of the moon, with fake memories (again).
• Also into the Donna Troy multiverse exist
• (Not joking. Multiple universes of Donna Troy meet)

Next Retcon

• Donna was still kidnapped by Dark Angel
• she was kept frozen for a time, released, and adopted by the Amazons.
• Diana gone now, Donna is WW

New 52

Didn't exist until" new 52 Wonder woman # 20" was it created to be a rival to the throne ofParadise Island ( by the throne) fans revolted so they brought back old Donna

Rebirth fucked around.
