"I'll head out to Shallowbrook, follow their tracks, see if I can learn anything about them." Siris intones. "Oh, and Ulric, you could use the standing stones as a meeting point for the freed slaves. you remember them?"

You do remember them. A mysterious circle of monolithic black stones, covered in strange carvings, their purpose lost to time. They sit halfway between Shallowbrook and your hometown.

You nod, and Siris departs. Dorian moves to go with him, but you stop him.

"No Dorian, I need you here, I have something for you."

He looks at you quizzically, but does not press you further.

"In that case," adds Colter, "I will get started on the weapons. That reminds me, Ulric, how is the mail shirt coming?"

"Slow." You reply, raising your hands for him to see. "Big fingers."

Colter nods curtly. "Alright, I'll help you finish it in a little while."

"Thanks" You reply. With that, Colter moves off to man his forge, and you turn to Dorian.

"Come with me." You tell him, before ducking through a nearby door.

You take him to the room in which you stashed the books on magic that you looted from the succubus' wagon.

Before showing him in, however, you stop and say: " You like your fingers? then put them to work."

And with that, you let him in.

You know Dorian as a stern man of forty. Therefore, the giddy eight year old that entered that room could not be him.

Soon though, he recovers enough composure to thank you, and to inform you that you won't be seeing much of him for a while.

You chuckle, and leave him to it.
