It turns out that your words of encouragement did more harm than good, as Amanda never came to visit.

This depressed Leyla to no end, as she felt abandoned by her family. It was especially difficult for her since they had grown closer since the transformation. Being part of the same pack allowed them to understand each other easily and gave them a common goal.

You're not sure if it was a mistake on Edward's part, but because she felt all alone, she clung to you with everything she had, in an effort to ensure that you wouldn't abandon her. Your wellbeing became the most important thing to her.

It didn't take long for you to understand that she craves your acknowledgement. Having her so dependent on your attention made it hard not to take advantage of her, but having Jenny visit you regularly kept you in check.

Her visits allowed you to know what was going on outside, but they also made you worry because things were getting worse by the day. The party was such a big mistake that people became terrified and demanded that the authorities take drastic action immediately. Sadly, you are stuck here, and there is little you can do to help.

It seems that your actions had a significant impact on your group, as they are constantly ostracised by the rest of the pack. This is especially hard on Jenny, as people blame you directly for what Edward is doing to them. And since they can't take it out on you, they attack the next best thing, and that is your girlfriend. You, at least, have Leyla, but Jenny is all alone.

Just thinking about it makes you angry. After all, what do they want from you? To kill your best friend just so they can avoid a few bad words and nasty looks? A bunch of pussies...

And, of course, there's no doubt Edward is doing all this on purpose. It looks like you really pissed him off this time, and at the rate things are going, you doubt there is any way to mend things in the future.

"Will he kill us?" Leyla asks as she sits next to you, leaning on your shoulder.

"No, he wouldn't dare!"

"Why wouldn't he? Everyone hates us..."

"I'm sure we will be fine... if he wants us dead, he would have done it already..." Unless he enjoys torturing us or something. "Maybe he will just expel us from the pack."

"Yeah, that could be a possibility. But where would we go?"

"Maybe we'll buy a cabin in the mountains and live by hunting... no phone, no internet..."

"Haha, away from everyone, no more vampires, no more wars..." She smiles as she no doubt starts to imagine a quiet life away from all the struggles.

And who knows, it might be worth a try. After all, you are sick of constantly having to watch your back against the vampires, the government, and now your own race.

You are tired of all of this.
