"Wake Up!" you suddenly get pushed out of bed.

You stumble up, quickly looking to see who could be so rude. You have better eyes than most and aren't surprised to see Akina, leader of your father's spy corps. You recognize her immediately from her feline ears and tail. She's a beastfolk. They're uncommon, but mostly integrated into human society. Despite typically being treated as Second-Class citizens.

"what is the meaning of this!" You irately ask her

Akina doesn't answer immediately, but throws a tunic and some trousers at her "Dress."

You look at the garments. These aren't yours. They're certainly not made to be yours and they're certainly not fit for a princess. You thrown them on the bed, "What's going on?"

Her head snaps up to look at you. You've never seen a more serious expression on her face. "Your father is dead. Your brother will likely be dead also in a few minutes You're next unless we hurry. Now. Dress."

You stumble backwards in shock, the blood draining from your face. "No..."

She sighs, "You can mourn later."

A sudden flash of lightning illuminates the room as you quickly pull the clothes on. They don't fit you, but that's not really the concern now. With that, she takes a hold of your hand and pulls you out the door. She practically drags you down the corridor and pulls a book off a nearby bookcase to open a secret passage that slams shut behind you. It's pitch black as she navigates you through the tunnels. After several minutes of twists and turns you see another passage open ahead of you and you're outside the castle walls.
