The day begins.

You're completely alone in the room when you awaken. After a long stretch, you work yourself out of your current outfit, as strange as it feels to get nude in a stranger's room, and then try on something new. From the bottom up, you have a nice pair of leather boots. Black trousers are tucked inside. A belt holds the waist tight, and then you have a new brown t-shirt tucked into that. Around your torso is a nice green coat trimmed with silver. All in all, it's actually very nice, even if Lithvir describe it as simple. You feel like you're cosplaying or something.

The door swings open a moment after. Yiiv barges in with bags under her eyes. Within her hand is something familiar yet different. It's a camera, though it isn't yours--not how you remember it anyway. There's a violet sheen around a strange metal shell, though it's surprisingly light. The lens as arcane symbols around it as well. There are various crystals and other strange things, so you don't even know where to start, but she shoves it right into your hands.

"Did you sleep at all?" you ask.

"Nope!" Yiiv says with widened eyes. "But after studying this thing back at the lair, thinking hard about it, thinking even more about it on the way here, and an entire night of hard labour, I did it. I worked with some other people around just for help with the materials, but it's complete. The most amazing invention I've ever created. You're holding in your hands the YiivCam 1.0!"

You lift the viewfinder to your eye. It isn't perfect, but it's working! You can see her as if you were looking through an actual camera. "What about a printer?"

"That's next. I'm still working on that. But theoretically, anything you snap a Yiivshot of--"

"A snapshot."

"Anything you snap a Yiivshot of will be transferable when I'm done. You'll be able to have it flash the image directly onto paper."

"Well geeze. This is a lot more than I expected." Though as you talk, you notice her brain flick off an in instant.

The exhaustion catches up with her. She collapses like a sack of potatoes, but Lithvir catches her from behind. You hardly even noticed she came through the door. With the sunheart in her arms, she lets out a motherly sigh of disappointment. She takes the girl by her underarms and pulls her over onto her blanket.

"We will allow her to rest up here for awhile," explains the elf. "How about we go for a walk? It shall allow you to properly break in your new clothing, especially your footwear, but you must also be eager to see the sights, yes?"

You look down at the YiivCam. It even has a brand new strap to comfortably hang it from your neck. Hold on a minute. Sure, I might not be a big strong warrior, but this is a chance to have a new beginning in a world many people only dream about. Who says I have to be a hero something? This just seems like a nice world to live a normal life! And with my magic camera... Well, the people here don't even know what a camera is, so if I take beautiful photographs, I can sell them for a lot of money. This is revolutionary! Who wouldn't pay money for a photograph where something like this doesn't even exist?

"You look happier than before," Lithvir comments.

"Well I'm just getting excited to take some photos. Thanks, Yiiv. I'll get some nice ones for you."

The elf chuckles. She brushes a hand down the back of your neck. "I am glad."
