Chapter 4

What do you do?
Arrive at town.
Evening comes. Compared to what an Earthling would describe as a city, it isn't all that large, though for a world like this one, it's a decent size. The streets are bustling. Though a lot is medieval, you can tell the infrastructure is much better, if that wasn't already apparent by the clothing they're able to produce. It's certainly not Earth. That fact is ever present. And when you near the other citizens, you realize it truly is your outfit that sticks out.
Tunics. Robes. Elves. Dwarves. You see some folk with the ears of a cat, and others with those of a rabbit. There are others as well, but it's too overwhelming to take everything in. The outfits are colourful and fun. While not every wardrobe is skimpy, you certainly still see a lot of girls having fun with their choice of clothing. It isn't just girls either. People around here seem more liberal, though you're still not sure if they're self-aware about it or not. Perhaps that's just how they've always dressed, or there are just a lot of closet-freaks around.
It doesn't take long for the two girls to lead you to a large stone building decorated with blue and silver banners. It has a wooden sign above the door with the image of a pointed wizard cap covered in stars.
"Where are we?" you ask as you continue gawking at the sights.
"This is Dawnstead, a lovely city," Lithvir answers. "And this here is local hall for scholars to meet up and exchange ideas. It is a wonderful place for people such as I to obtain information, rest, or simply relax with some books. They call it The Book Stop. Though, they do not allow just anybody in. Thankfully, I believe I will be able to grant us access if you give me but a moment."
Without saying anything more, she walks up to the door and heads inside.
Meanwhile, Yiiv looks you over. "We need to get you some new clothes," she says.
"That's harsh."
She snickers. "Sorry. Hey, if I buy them for you, can I look at your camera?"
"It's the only thing I have from Earth now besides the clothes on my back, but it also doesn't do much for me now... You can, but just be careful."
"Todd. I swear to you. If I'm able to get this thing working somehow, it's all yours. The thrill of being able to work on something from another world is just--" She takes a shivering inhale. "I can't even contain myself."
The door opens again. Lithvir steps out and curtsies. "Please come inside," she says.
It's a lovely, old timey parlour within the walls of the hall. There are shelves filled with books and several different people sitting at tables, whether to mingle amongst each other, or to read alone. Though the elf leads you past all of them, through a hallway, and to a door leading into a small room. More shelves with books are inside as well as a table in the center surrounded by a half dozen chairs.
She leans her rear back on the edge of the table to face you. "I spoke with the others, and you may stay here for the night. It is no bedroom, but it is free, and more importantly, safe. We will protect you here. In the mean time, I did overhear you mention clothing."
"You heard that?" you ask.
"Elves have incredibly good hearing. Not as much as bunnyfolk, but--"
"Those must be the rabbit-eared people I saw, right?"
She nods. "Anyway, I would like to find you something simple to wear for the time being. Is that all right?"
"And I'll look at this!" Yiiv says, grabbing the camera excitedly.
The evening proceeds as normal. Well, as normal as things could be on a brand new planet filled with magic and monsters. They bring you dinner--a simple meal of stew, but it's something. It warms your stomach. Then with a blanket, each of you curls up on the floor of the private room to get some rest. Your mind swims with questions, but for now, you need to sleep. It's going to be difficult, but you were already heading to bed before all of this happened. Your mind and body are drained.
Though when you look up, Yiiv is nowhere to be seen. Her blanket is nearby, but she disappeared rather quickly, along with your camera.
You sigh.
Lithvir places your new clothing folded up nicely on the table though you've yet to try it on. More things to clear from your mind or you'll never get any rest at all.

Fantasy Girl Photographer
In a magical world, you introduce a brand new concept using your trusty camera—modelling! (Shared world with my other story, YPoHH.)
While you've read isekai stories in the past, they usually star either a hero out to hunt the Demon King, or perhaps the Demon King himself, but after being summoned to another world to find out you have no special powers of any sort, you find a different opportunity to become incredibly wealthy. You've come to possess a magic camera, and the residents of this world have no idea what a photograph even is, so strike while the iron is hot! People will be willing to spend a lot of money on this new invention. (Cover is from the Sakura franchise. Same world as YPoHH.) ----- We have a wiki now!
