Audrey Comes Clean

Friday Night, September 18th.

Daniel and Audrey drove alone down the road leading to the Ravers Cabin. They had just finished celebrating Daniel's birthday party with their family and a few friends. It had been a light dinner and they had left early for the cabin. Audrey had insisted on leaving, hinting at an early start for a romantic weekend for just the two of them and telling him that she had a special birthday gift waiting for him at the cabin.

As they drove along the road Audrey tried to talk to Daniel but he seemed disinterested in what she had to say unless it was about the company or the kids.

Halfway through the trip, Audrey asked hopefully, "Do you think Logan has what it takes?"

Daniel mulled over the question. He liked that Logan had acted to help the other kids even when he had no stakes in the fight, it wasn't elegant but it was his first try. He also liked the way Heather seemed supportive of him and wondered what her part in his plan had been. "Yes, I think he has what it takes." Daniel answer stiffly, his lips drawn into a tight line. After a few moments of silence, he added, "Maybe Heather... Later, when she matures and gets over the whole cheerleader phase. She has too much of Robert in her... not enough Brooke." he paused for a few moments before dismissing the conversation "Just let them enjoy high school."

'He's really not happy' she worried. 'please god I don't let him know.' Her mind raced a thousand miles a minute wondering if he knew about her and Robert. If it had something to do with the company, something to do with them,... or with her.

When they arrived at the cabin Audrey once again tried to get Daniel in the mood before they got out of the car.

"C'mon, your special gift is waiting for you," Audrey said coyly.

"Why here?" Daniel said dryly. "Why couldn't you give it to me at the manor?"

"Because I don't want the other to know about it. It's a special gift." Audrey said with a mischievous glint in her eye.

"You don't want the other to know what you're giving me or...," he said sternly looking at his wife with hard crossed eyes, "you don't want Robert to know what you're giving me? Is that it? You don't want him to be jealous you're giving me something you're not giving him?"

Audrey froze. Her eyes popped wide open in fear 'he knows!'

"How long has it been going on?" Daniel demanded.

"Since I caught him with Chastity." Audrey said softly, "but it's over now."

"OH really!?" Daniel said sarcastically. "Just like that huh? You cheat on me and then you think it's ok because it's over?"

"No! I don't think it's ok!" Audrey said, her eyes getting moist, "I didn't want to do it."

"Don't play the victim card with me!" Daniel snapped back at his wife.

"I'm sorry Danny!" Audrey said tearfully punching his shoulder. "I didn't want to do it! But I had to do it!"

"You had to do it? You had to do it?" Daniel said incredulously "Audrey this isn't a business loss you can write off. YOU CUCKED ME WITH MY BROTHER!"

"Damm it Danny!" Audrey slapped his shoulder as she yelled back at her husband. "Malcolm left a mess and we're barely holding on. I didn't want to do it but there was too much at risk! It's not my fault he can't think straight if his dick isn't happy and you know it!"

"It's just money!" Daniel said. "We would have survived!"

"It's not just the money!" Audrey said. "I don't fucking care about the money! There is more at stake than that! This is bigger than just us. We're weak and our enemies know it! If they had won the pharmaceutical labs it would be a disaster. And it's not just the 'Venus Compound' they would have and you know it."

Daniel's was flush with rage he barely held back. He knew what was coming next but he didn't want to hear it, he didn't want to admit it. Losing control of the Venus Compound was bad enough and not for the first time he cursed his father's obsession.

Audrey grabbed a fistful of Daniel's jacket and continued. "If they get the labs they'll find 'The Facility' if they don't already know it exists. If they get that, they get the tunnels back to the manor." Audrey looked at Daniel straight in the eyes. "I am not going to put my children and my family at risk just because Robert can't think straight without a happy dick! They get The Facility and it's game over for everything. Danny! They'll put a target on our children's heads!"

Daniel stared at his wife. She was right. If Jaisur had won it was game over. 'Fucking Malcolm and his fucking obsession.' Daniel cursed inside.

The Facility was something Daniel's grandfather had started over 45 years ago. It began as a giant fallout shelter their grandfather built during the Cold War. It originally had room for 50 people, a garage, a giant storage area, and a tunnel network that went back to the Manor and Ravers HQ. The pharmaceutical labs were then built above it. Malcolm would later expand the tunnel network and more importantly the bunker and its function. He sunk millions of dollars into high-tech R&D labs developing new drugs, weapons, lightweight materials, and other development areas. The first results from the labs had been the Venus Compound. Malcolm spent so much money on The Facility that Ravers Enterprise almost went broke and Daniel and Robert had been forced to take over and send Malcolm out to Australia to continue his R&D development but with a very tight budget.

"Danny," Audrey said tearfully as she stroked his shoulder, "You said it yourself, 'Sometimes we can't do what we want, sometimes we do what we have to do no matter the cost. No Matter The Cost!'. I know you tried to take Robert to Magenta and you asked Klaus to bring that hussy last week but, that was never going to be enough. Danny, I tried everything Danny. I even tried to get Sophia to hook him up with one of her ex-lovers. I begged her Danny I swear I did. Do you know what she said? She said no. She said no Danny! THAT SELFISH BITCH SAID NO!!! Your sister wouldn't even lift a single finger to help us! I was desperate, I didn't know what else to do!"

Audrey lifted her hand to caress his face. Daniel saw her tears and makeup run down her cheek. She almost never cried and he believed her, somehow he knew she was telling him the truth. "Chastity! Chastity did more to help than that bitch did!" Audrey choked back her tears. "Chastity! Bless her dumb blonde head, that girl has a heart of gold. I never thought she had it in her but she did. Chastity tried to help. She did it for the company and she did it for her family's weird tradition with ours. I know you didn't want her doing anything like that but even you let it happen because you knew we needed help, any help. You know what's at stake!"

"Danny, I couldn't let her do it alone." Tears flowed from her eyes as she stared at Daniel "I didn't do it because I wanted him. I want you! I love you! You have to believe me. Danny, I did it for the kids, for their future, for us. I'd do anything for them, for you. But we have to buy them time. We have to buy Logan and Heather time so they can fix the mess Malcolm made."

"So you're telling me you played him," Daniel said tersely.

"Yeah." Audrey snorted "Chastity and I... we both played him. We played him like a fucking violin. You found out, but he never knew it." Audrey said.

They sat there for a few moments looking at each other faces, searching for what came next while they held each other's hands. Daniel was still in shock by Audrey's admission, her honesty in not even trying to deny it helped him believe her. She was right, they were in a desperate situation. If it was any other division.. maybe... maybe even the pharmaceutical and lose the Venus Compound but... The Facility and the tunnels.. was it too much to lose? He hated that Robert's genius as a businessman was so tied up to being satisfied. Their best years had been when he had been married to Brooke and fucked her every day.

"Come inside Danny," Audrey whispered and pleaded tearfully. "Come inside and let me give you this gift. When you see... you're gonna fucking love it, I know it. Danny, I promise, you'll one-up Robert with it when he finds out about it. Please Danny! Let me make it up to you. Come inside." Audrey said tugging at his arm.

"You think you can make up for it with a 'gift'... really?" Danny looked at her.

"No... but It's a start... Danny?" Audrey said getting out of the car and Daniel followed her. She took his hand and pulled him along to the cabin. "Come in. I know you'll love it, you're going to fucking love it when you see it. I'm really sorry Danny. I know it's not enough but besides this, you can have a free pass, just the one." Audrey said hopefully but she saw the expression on Daniel's face and knew that even this was not going to be enough to get Daniel to forgive her. So she decided to put all the chips on the table, it was time to go all out, it was all or nothing. "That and... and... Mon---" Audrey trailed off mumbling something that Daniel couldn't hear.

"And what Audrey?" Daniel asked still shocked Audrey would even consider giving him a free pass and whatever this gift was that made her so sure it would help him forgive her.

"And Monica Bishop," Audrey lowered her eyes and whispered tearfully. "You can take her as a mistress."

"What!?" Daniel said dumbfoundedly. "You're going to help me get Monica as a mistress?"

"No. I won't." Audrey said "But if you can win her on your own you can have her as a mistress. BUT! You never bring her here, or at the manor or alone in public. If it ever goes public I. Will. Divorce. You. And take the kids. And you can all go to hell and fix Malcolm's mess on your own."

With that, they both entered the cabin and went to the family room. Daniel took a deep breath and followed her, he started the fireplace before dropping onto the couch while Audrey poured him a full glass of scotch with ice and brought it to him. "I'll be right back," she said.

Daniel waited for Audrey to return. He took a sip from his drink but then set it aside. His head wrestled with everything that was going on and he didn't want to cloud his mind with alcohol. There was too much to process, Audrey's infidelity hurt like a hot knife thrust in his gut. But he couldn't deny that their situation was desperate, he couldn't deny that she was right on so many levels, and he couldn't deny that without Robert they would have failed. It was as if Jaisur knew exactly when to make their move. He never understood why they had suddenly made their move out of the blue.

Still, he mulled over their conversation. back and forth it hurt him but he also saw how much it hurt Audrey and seeing her tears got to him. 'She must be truly desperate to make things right to tell me I can have my ex-girlfriend as a mistress and whatever this fucking 'Gift' is that she thinks can help.' Daniel thought. 'Must be some really special Gift.'

"I'm back honey." he heard Audrey's sweet voice and turned to look at her. She was standing in the doorway and his eyes lit up when he saw her. She was wearing a bright red lingerie outfit. It had a lace bra that pushed her breast together forming a deep inviting cleavage that made him want to dive right in. Lower, she wore thin matching red panties that braced her hips, and when she gave a twirl he couldn´t help but noticed that her panties were a thong that disappeared between in the cleft of her delicious round ass. A red garter belt with red stockings and a pair of red high heel shoes finished the outfit that accentuated her narrow waist and long legs... "Do you like it?" she asked giving him a coy smile. "I brought you a special gift." She said and reaching for something beyond the doorway and brought it forward. "Happy Birthday Danny," Audrey said with her best sultry voice. What she held in her hands made his heart stop and his jaw drop from surprise.

Author's Note: Venus Compound. The way I am going to use this is the following. It is a medical drug, hormone, etc. Originally conceived by Malcolm as a way to help women with infertility. The result was a substance that increased fertility but also increased arousal, sexual performance and bypassed birth control. (Yes I know this is not how these things work but this is fiction) Released "accidentally" by Malcolm years ago. A few of the kids may or may not be the result of this. May have other effects on the children/adults? Currently, no samples exist and the formula is locked down in a vault by Ravers Enterprise. Not accessible unless 3 special codes are introduced.
