Main branch

Character descriptions contain minor spoilers.

The protagonists of the main branch of YFP are John, his friend Ashley, and his pet Tibby. Their descriptions are kept somewhat vague to give your imagination room to work, but I do have a specific image of them and the major supporting characters in mind when I write.

John Langwell

John started as a stand-in protagonist (read: basic white dude) and developed into his own person over time. He's 18 years old, about to enter college to study engineering, and has just moved into an apartment he has for himself. A drastic change from his home, which is always noisy due to his large family. To make sure he doesn't get too lonely, his friend Ashley pressures him into adopting the first human pet he's ever lived with (his family only had a housecat).

Tabitha Valentina Moralez AKA Tibby (the girl in the cover image)

John's pet. Tibby has loved cats all her life. She came out at 17 and moved in with her best friend Clara to be her pet. Unfortunately her impulsive ways made her unpopular with Clara's father, who ultimately kicked her out. Tibby returned to her parent's home until she was ready to find a new owner, at which point she moved to one of Friendly Pets Inc.'s adoption center. She's stayed there long enough to become like a big sister to the other cat girls, and is 19 when John walks into the shop. She remains as mischievous as ever, but that's just fine with him.

Ashley Hoaka

An only child raised by a single mom. The same age as John, they've been best friends since childhood but never more. She's been developing a crush on him for a while, which is why she puts up with his penchant for perverted jokes, but doesn't think he'd reciprocate her feelings. She has an interest in petgirls that she wants to explore by studying biology. Her pale skin is inherited from the dad she never knew, her mom being native to Hawaii.

Dave

A schoolmate of Ashley and John, but not a close friend. He doesn't get along with Ashley. Kind of a douche. Won't make many appearances beyond the first plot arc.

Annabelle

A nice lady who lives in the same apartment building as John. Tan with strawberry blonde hair and looks young for her thirty-some years. She has never owned a pet, but knows a thing or two about them. She has experience as a dom and a sub, and works in sales. Also she has really big boobs.
