Chapter 29 by JohnLocke4 JohnLocke4

Meanwhile...

A Romantic At Heart

Victoria all but ran up the stairs to her room with Kurt, her excitement to find out what plans he had in store for them today racing through her head. Everything was like a dream this week, Ashley found someone new who really cared about her, Heather seemed to be forming a surprising bond with Gavin, and she possibly stumbled upon the guy of her dreams. Victoria knew she was being a little childish, Kurt wasn't prince charming, he clearly liked to tease Heather some but he definitely wasn't the super asshole she warned them all about.

Kurt was sweet, he wasn't heavy handed, it was clear enough to Victoria that he wanted to take some steps forward but he wasn't forcing it. Not to mention how chivalrous he was too, Victoria still felt butterflies each time she remembered how Kurt stood up to Brandon for her yesterday, ready to protect her without a second thought. Everyone she seemed to talk to about him kept telling her to be careful, but for once in her life, Victoria felt that she knew exactly what she was getting into.

The blonde took a quick second to catch her breath, fix her hair, and readjust her clothes before walking into her bedroom. Her green eyes lit up as she saw Kurt midway through putting a shirt on, "Mhm," Victoria instinctively hummed as her eyes traced over Kurt's toned chest before swiftly tearing away, "Hi Kurt, Zack said you were looking for me?" The blonde said with a quick clear of her throat,

"Oh yeah, cool, someone told you," Kurt smiled back, "I'm heading out to the ranger station, let them know our phone lines are down from the storm. Figured, if you were up to it, you could tag along? I'd appreciate the company,"

"Yes!" Victoria blurted back causing a chuckle to leave Kurt's mouth and her cheeks to turn flush, "I mean...I have nothing better to do, so that'd be nice,"

"Relax, sweetness, knowing you want to spend time with me doesn't make me feel anything other than happy and lucky," Kurt reassured the blonde, reaching out to cup her face and smoothly stroke her cheek with his thumb, "Shall we?"

"Right behind you," Victoria dreamily replied, following Kurt out of the cabin and into his car.

The drive wasn't very long, twenty minutes at the most, and Kurt regaled Victoria with plenty of stories from his past years at the cabin. Instances of fishing with his dad and uncle, spending days out on the lake without another soul around, and of course, some mischievous fun he'd have usually at Heather's expense. "So after admitting to my dad that I told Heather Bigfoot was actually in these woods, they called the rangers and we found her a few hours later. She was alright, but super pissed off, didn't talk to me for months. I still don't think she's forgiven me for that one,"

"Oh but you two were young, teasing and getting on each other's nerves is expected when you're twelve. It's not like you made her go get lost, and she was okay. I'm sure I'd be mad and embarrassed too but by now I'd be laughing at that story," Victoria lightheartedly smiled, "It sounds like to me that she's got you totally misunderstood. If I were you, I'd try and talk with her and spend some time, with no teasing or joking, and by the end of the day, you'd probably be thick as thieves,"

"You could be right," Kurt lightly laughed back, "But for the next week in a half, someone a little more important has my complete attention," Victoria lowered her head and let out a blushing smile from the comment as Kurt turned the car off the gravel road and up to the ranger station. "Hey, this will just take two seconds, but once I get back, I want to show you something," Kurt annouced as he opened his car door,

"Oh okay, sure," Victoria rapidly agreed.

Kurt grinned and got from the car, heading into the ranger station, reporting the situation directly to Samuel Jensen. With the report filed and a loose time for repair given, Kurt jumped back into his car and turned it around, heading back towards the cabin for half a mile before turning off onto a smaller dirt road. "Don't worry, been on this road dozens of times, my car will make it," Kurt assured the blonde girl who grimaced with each bounce and bump,

"Where are we going out here?" Victoria asked with a confused expression,

"Somewhere amazing," Kurt merely replied as he continued up the road for another quarter mile. Finally the road stopped inclining and the trees began to pull away into a clearing. Victoria's eyes widened and she let out a soft gasp as Kurt pulled the car up the edge of a cliffside, revealing a scenic view that stretched out for miles over the woods and lake. "Come on," Kurt urged as he got from the car.

Victoria swiftly followed the teen, stepping from the car and then onto the hood of his car, laying back to drink in the sights, "Kurt...how did you know about this place?"

"Told you I've been coming here for years, this was the best spot when I needed to get some alone time," Kurt explained with a shrug before pointing out, "Over there is our cabin, if you really squint, you can probably see the chimney sticking out,"

Victoria leaned in and let out a smile, "Yes, I see it, wow, we're pretty high up,"

"Yeah, you can see everything out here, and its so quiet and private," Kurt sighed back, "A perfect place to take the perfect girl,"

Victoria looked over to Kurt with a smirk, "Aren't you smooth," She giggled out,

"What can I say, I'm a romantic at heart," Kurt easily smiled back while leaning in, taking light hold of Victoria's chin with his thumb and forefinger, and planting a deep sensual kiss on her lips. Victoria, without hesitation melted into it and began to kiss Kurt back eagerly.
