Spyro, from the Spyro the Dragon franchise

A mistake that people sometimes made was to think that the Furry Fandom only cared about characters that were “furry”, like lions, wolves, tigers, bunnies and other mammals. However, it also included all of the animal characters that had something of human to them, which included animals that had scales and feathers.

Of course, there were subgroups for the furry community, like the “scalies” and the “avians”, but in general, the community embraced all of the anthropomorphic animals. Even the mythology ones.

An example of this, were dragons. And among dragons, one that was certainly famous, even iconic, was a certain dragon with purple scales named Spyro. First appearing at the end of the nineteen-nineties, as the star of his own game, the purple dragon won everyone’s hearts and gained for himself an eternal place in fandoms all around the world, including the furry one. Actually, some even say that the origins of the furry fandom could even be trace back to that purple dragon and his games!

With many sequels, two reboots and finally a remake of the original trilogy, the famous Reignited Trilogy, Spyro can certainly be classify as an eternally loved and popular character. So, Josh was actually no surprise when he saw, among the selection menu, the face of a purple dragon with the name Spyro right beneath it.

“Hmmm, Spyro, huh?” Josh said, looking at the square. “Yeah, I do love his games. Alright, I’ll play with the purple dragon.”

As he said that, the square that showed Spyro was select, and the menu vanished. Only then, Josh realized that Spyro had never officially been an adult in any of his games. Of course, the subject of Spyro’s age was never openly brought, but they all indicated that he was a preteen, most likely. Not the mention the fact that he went around on all fours like a feral. Now Josh got curious on how they would walk around that.

His answer soon came, as the figure of Fursona started to change before him. His body became buffer, while his legs also changed in shape. His tail, which Josh had ignored until now, could no longer be ignore, as it elongated and became more muscular. Then, the new features sprouted from his body, as wings came out of his back and horns came out of his head. There was no doubt that this creature was a dragon, as it changed and gained purple and golden colors. Then, it came the accessories: a pair of aviator googles on his head, a red scarf around his neck, a brown back over his shoulder, brown fingerless gloves on his clawed hands, and a belt with many pockets around his waist.

As he stood before Josh, slightly taller than him, the dragon smiled at him.

“Good choice, pal.” Spyro said, looking back at Josh, who looked at the dragon before him u and down. This adult Spyro looked... really nice.

“Wow...” Josh said, and Spyro chuckled.

“Like it?” He asked, looking at the human, “Well, you can thank the online artist who did this popular artwork of adult Spyro, which served as a base for this model.” Spyro said, opening his hand and presenting a link to Josh:

It was an artwork that was made back in 2018, and that has ever since been accepted as canon by many of the community. It certainly looked like it fitted the Reignited remake.

“And, you can thank the ones who created the voice-aging algorithm that was used to make my adult voice based on the voice recordings of my voice actor on the Reignited Trilogy.” Spyro said, “By the way, the specific Spyro in this is the one of the Reignited Trilogy, both in personality and in lore, so you can adjust your fantasies accordingly.” Spyro winked at him as he said that, and Josh nodded.

“Yeah, it seems fair.” Josh said, looking at the handsome dragon that stood before him. Yes, dragons could be handsome, Josh knew that as a Furry, and he would not let anyone convince him otherwise, like a good furry.

“Okay then.” Spyro said, looking at the human. “So, how are we doing this now? Would you like some programmed scenarios, or would you prefer to go for a free experience?”
