Fight the golem.

It swings down one of its massive arms to sunder the floor where you stood moments ago, though your dodge is made just in time. As you circle around, you strike at its wrist. The spheres separate, and its hand falls to the ground with a thud. You then move in and thrust the weapon forwards, though such a strike merely glances over the metal shell of the balls that make up its body. Piercing damage is not the answer.

Suddenly, the tiny automatons of its hand roll up its body and form anew--like regeneration. If each individual machine isn't destroyed, they can just come together once again, and your slice perhaps only eliminated one or two. It hardly made a difference.

"Kyle, I think I got it!" you hear Delphi call out.

You turn to see the dark fairy flutter up from beneath the bed. In her arms is a black rod with a skull as the top, and it has two ruby eyes. "The control rod?" you ask.

"I don't know what else it would be."

We need to trust our instinct on this one. You roll away from another strike just before it hits you, though it absolutely decimates the armoire. You're back where you originally started--backed up against the wall near the door. Either way, we're definitely not on a stealth mission anymore. This needs to be take care of fast.

You watch as the light emitting from the golem's body shines brighter. The entire creature trembles. The room shakes. You look around frantically, though it's difficult to tell what exactly is going on. All you can do is lower yourself into a readied stance and hope for the best. The light gets brighter, and the vibrations become more intense.

Then your eyes widen. The attack occurs, but you're simply not fast enough to get out of the way. You bring your hands up to your face as each individual metal ball bursts forward like a bullet--a stream of attacks, like a machine gun unloading its entire magazine. The wall behind you falls to pieces, and you're sent flying backwards along with the shrapnel of wood. The next wall, and then the next, though you fall to the side as you tumble into someone else's bedroom. When your head stops spinning, you look up to see a gaping hole leading straight into the dining hall.

That really hurt... You struggle to stand. There's screaming ahead. You peer through the hole to see the golem back into its fully shaped form among panicked nobles. While her family might be in on it, there are many guests here who are clearly not, and you're still not certain who exactly is in cahoots with Elok and who isn't. And as much as you don't feel a lot of sympathy for the snobby elite below, you can't let them perish, and Rabbit's Foot is down there as well.

There's still a cloud of dust in the air so you can hardly see, and the area round you is absolutely decimated. "Delphi?" you call out. There's no answer, and time is of the essence. "Shit. Delphi, if you're there, come to the dining hall!"

With that, you leap off the ledge and descend into the middle of the party.
