The next morning, you’ve just finished sending a message on its way to the general, when Lynn approaches you. You smile, and she brightens immediately, seemingly warmed by your affection alone. Looking at you with her big lavender eyes, she smiles in return. “So, I d-didn’t want to bother you while you were busy, but I wanted to know if you’re free to spend some time with me?”

You reach out and gently touch her cheek. “Of course, Lynn! Our last date got interrupted, didn’t it.”

The little goblin nods. “That and…I don’t like the crowds when we go out now. I f-feel like they’re all watching me, it makes me nervous.”

You nod. “I understand. You’ve never liked being the center of attention. Did you have something else in mind?”

She smiles happily. “Oh, yes! Back when we were in the new world, Maya took me into the woods for the first time. It was almost magical! C-could we go out of the city? Just into the wilderness a bit? I want some time truly alone with you, Josh.

You smile back, taking her hand. “Of course! That sounds wonderful, Lynn. Did you want to go now?”

Lynn’s smile could light up the room. “Oh, yes! I would love that! I know just the place, Elys was showing me a nice spot on the map, it’s not far.”

You chuckle. “You’ve been plotting while I was gone, haven’t you.”

Lynn’s green skin darkens in a blush. “I-I mean…I didn’t have much to do, so I came up with some ideas…”

You interrupt her stammering with a kiss. “You’re adorable, Lynn. This will be a fun day.”

The two of you gather some food for a light lunch. Lynn, never a big eater, hasn’t been eating as much lately, her pregnancy making her sick at the smell of a lot of foods. Once packed, you head to the stables and get a horse. Lynn insists on riding with you, and you laugh, knowing it’s an excuse to cuddle on the ride.

You ride out of town, Lynn hugging your back. You feel her body pressed against you as she hides herself from the people watching. Unlike some of the other girls, she hasn’t been happy with her newfound fame. You expect she’s happiest only being noticed by family. Regardless, the trip out is uneventful, and soon, you’re approaching your destination.
