Doing what you should do

"Amy would you go out with me?" You are still driving home from the hospital when Alex drops the lightning bolt from the clear sky.

"Alex we're married." You respond confused.

"Right but here's the thing. We made a baby and then got married, then moved in together, right? But normally people meet, go on a few dates, move in together, get married then make a baby. Do you see where i'am getting at?"

"What, circumstances didn't allow us to have a normal dating life?" You ask sounding a bit more angry than is probably needed.

"Right we did things in a backwards order and.."

"But we have been on dates before, we had a movie night just yesterday."

"Yes but we've never actually gone out together." He puts his hand on your thigh and squeeze softly. "you know like on an actual date. And since we are doing things backwards i think it's time we did."

"So i will ask you again. Amy, you are a really cool girl, you wanna go out on a date with me tonight?" He says sounding so sweet it borders on slimy.

You smile taken by him. "Alright you charmer, what did you have in mind."You ask, relenting to him.
