Chapter 63

What's next?
Endocrinologist
The ride wasn’t nearly as enjoyable with the streets full of cars as when Jodie was able to speed around, but still the Audi sports car was a pleasure to drive. Pulling into the parking garage Jodie got out of the vehicle and stretched, inside here with the wind not blowing directly on her the temperature wasn't really that bad. “What are we doing here?” She asked over to Adam as he came up next to her. “OH, when I was looking at your calendar to put the DMV appointment I saw a note you left for scheduling a follow up after a visit to the doctor and it had a phone number. I didn’t see one already on your calendar so figured why not get all your errands done in one day.” Jodie bit her lower lip in concentration, trying to think what phone number she wrote down, and if Dr Woo said anything about also having an outside practice from Mega Corp and couldn’t remember. It wasn’t until they were inside the building and she saw the name on the office door inside that she realized where she was. This was the Endocrinologists office, a Dr. E. Harris was recommended to Jodie to help with her transition, an appointment Jodie never intended to make.
“Hey, umm sweetie. We don’t like really need to go in there, I like totally feel fine I swear!” She said pleadingly and when she saw the answer was going to be no tried to pursued a different answer. Jodie came close to Adam and reached her hand up to behind his head and planted a lingering kiss on his lips as she gripped his blonde hair. When she pulled back Jodie tried a coy smile. “Wouldn’t you rather spend the time with me back in your office?” She was never a fan of actively trying to turn Adam on, but that would be a small price to pay to stay away from the doctor that would try to actively turn Jodie from man to woman permanently. “I like the sound of that.” Adam said grabbing ahold of Jodie’s waist and pulling her around so her back was to the wall next tot he glass door. Pressing into her Adam kissed her deeply and as the kiss ended he placed his forehead against hers. “We have all the time in the world for us, and it is okay to be scared of doctors. But I will be here with you the entire time. I will help you through anything Jordan, I promise.” He said using her real name so she knew how sincere he was being. Mentally Jodie just screamed ‘FUCK’ a half dozen times before she was lead into the doctors waiting area and up to the counter where a male nurse was seated. “Appointment for Jordan Applegate to see a Dr. Harris.” Adam said as he gave Jodie’s hand a little squeeze.
“No problem.” the nurse said to Adam before turning to Jodie. “Miss Applegate, just fill this out and we will call you in shortly. Is your boyfriend joining you inside?” Adam had already shook his head and said “Yes.” Before Jodie could take the clipboard. Realizing this situation was completely out of control, Jodie looked to the man at her side. “Umm honey, I can do this. You can wait here, okay?” She started with a strong resolve, but it faltered at the end when she saw his face with genuine concern. “No problem, I will be right here if you need me.” It felt like deja vu, this was a repeat of the conversation she had with Eric for her last doctors visit. When Jodie went back to the counter to hand over the clipboard the nurse smiled and looked over to Adam and then at her. “Good for you, we don’t all get someone who accepts us.” Jodie hadn’t even considered it until the male nurse in front of him said that, the softness of his face that he might be trans and saw her with Adam as a loving couple. “No, we really don’t.” Jodie said feeling like a complete fraud.
While sitting down and waiting Jodie had crossed her legs and couldn’t help but bounce her foot, causing her six inch heel to dangle from her foot. When Jodie heard her name called she released Adam’s hand that she hadn’t even realized she had been gripping and followed the nurse down the tight corridor to a patient room. Adam watched his girl walk away, enjoying the view and worried for her. He thought it was incredible that she had gone and got surgery with such a strong case of white coat syndrome. He didn’t have a fear of doctors, but he understood the premise, while their job is to keep you health and make you better, more often than not they are the bringers of bad news. While he waited his phone rang and when he saw his mothers name appear on his screen he hoped she was in a good mood so he could tell her about the woman that he had fallen in love with.
When the doctor came in Jodie saw a tiny woman that looked like she would be lucky if she was two inches over five foot tall. Her almost white blonde hair was cut into a professional bob cut. Behind her dark rimmed glasses Jodie saw her bright blue eyes that matched her own, but while Jodie was dressed to get attention the doctor was dressed for the office, with the most feminine thing she wore was a light touch of makeup, a little jewelry and girly ballerina flats. “Well hiya, you must be Jordan. I’m Dr. Harris, but you can call me Emily if you like.” Ever since getting used to walking in heels Jodie had gotten used to being taller than some people, but it felt odd to be sitting on the exam room table and be taller than someone standing. The doctor started to ask Jodie some questions, a lot of questions and Jordan needed to decide how to play this out. If she told the doctor this was all some mistake and she was not trans and did not want to transition would she tell Dr. Woo? Would he tell HR? Jodie was positive he wasn’t supposed to, but that didn’t always translate to what did happen in the real world. Jodie decided the best way through this was to play alone, say what she thought the doctor would want to hear and then just throw away whatever pills that were given. Well so long as they weren't pain medication or something for anxiety.
Jodie said things like “I have always felt this way.” “Whatever you think is best to help me.” In the end Jodie ended up removing her clothes for and trading them for a smock. It might have been one of the more embarrassing moments having a doctor examine Jodie’s entire body from head to toe, seeing breasts and penis alike. Jodie had multiple vials of blood drawn for this test or that, she wasn’t really paying attention; this was all a formality. What Jodie was not expecting was instead of a prescription for pills to take, the doctor put a needle in Jodie’s already plump rear end. “Okay, that should do it for this visit and I would like to see you here next week for your next shot and then monthly after that. Jodie I see your mind wondering, I need you to pay attention to this. In the paperwork I am sending home with you is the phone number for a colleague of mine that works just right next door in this same building. They often work with woman like you, but if you want to see someone else that is okay. What you are doing is amazing, but it can be stressful. You understand?” Jodie could feel the sting from the injection and whispered the reply. “Yes.” Back to the small woman feeling suddenly worn down mentally, the day had been going so well and suddenly Jodie had god knows how much woman’s hormones now floating around his system.
Coming back into the waiting room Jodie was back in her womanly guise, her armor that protected the truth. The horrible feeling was lesser now once she calmed down and saw her reflection as she freshened up her makeup. At one point Jodie took note that she just put on the makeup automatically as if it was just as subconsciously important as breathing, but Jodie wasn’t sure when the act of doing it brought a calmness. Jodie still not fully with it when Adam gave her a quick kiss, one she returned. “You okay? They tell you something bad?” Adam asked with concern. Forcing a smile Jodie looked into his eyes. “Oh, of course not. You know doctors always using like big words and stuff, so I’m just catching up.” Adam tapped Jodie with one finger at the center of her chest above her breasts. “Do not get down on yourself for not understanding everything, you are amazing the way you are.” The ditzy act played into what she already knew the man thought of Jodie, and it was a lot less painful to do than tell him. “Hey yeah, I’m actually a man and this place helps people transition to another gender.” So instead Jordan just tried to bury himself more into Jodie and grabbed her boyfriend's arm. “You’re the best.” While trying to not compare him to a much better man and her best friend.
