Catching up with Alyssa

The next day I find myself doing some research in the library. As much as I want to avoid Beth, my studies meant it couldn't be avoided. Whilst I take notes, I see Alyssa come nearby. I give her a nod before she sits down next to me. "Hey."

"How's it going?" I ask.

"Good. Studying hard?"

"Yeah."

"So Shar told me you're no longer in the business?"

I look around, hoping no one is in earshot. It's not like anyone would know what is going on, but part of me just couldn't help it. "Well, I'm putting a pause on it."

"So this thing with Shar is pretty serious, huh?"

I nod. "Yeah, you could say."

Alyssa looks at me with a smile. "Well, good for you Andrew."

I smile back at her. "Thanks."

"Seriously. You used to be so nervous around girls in high school."

"Heh..." My face starts to turn red. "I thought you'd be more disappointed."

"Well, maybe a little but I think it's good you're finally coming out of your shell Andrew."

"Thanks."

"Anyway, I hear you've started taking dancing lessons too?"

"Uh yeah. Salsa." I say, hoping that Shar hadn't mentioned anything else about that situation.

"Enjoying it?"

"Yeah so far. I mean Shar's got more moves than me, but I'm still having a good time."

"Oh I'm sure you'll catch up."

I shrug. "I guess so. Plus I know the right moves to keep her happy."

Alyssa giggles before saying "You sure do."

"So how about you? Anyone special in your life?"

"Nope. Not right now, but that's cool."

"Plenty of fish in the sea."

"Something like that."

"Maybe you should come dancing with us?" I ask.

"Ugh. Between college and gymnastics, I've got enough going on."

"Fair enough."

"Anyway, I better leave you to it. Don't want you getting behind in your studies."

"Sure. It was good to catch up with you."

"Same."

Alyssa then heads off, and leaves me in peace. Just as I figure I've got some time to study, Shar sends me a text that reads:

'u doing anything rn??'

'studying'

'lame come over to my dorm'

'can this wait until tonight??'

'nope I've got sorority stuff to organize and I need my daily dose of dick'

'I'll be right there'

Not like I'm gonna get much study done when I'm thinking about what I could be doing with Shar.
