Pinkerton: Wellington Branch

As you approached the Pinkerton officer your hand began to shake once more. You had never experienced such feelings of nervousness or sensations and it was beginning to worry Harmony if the looks she had on her face were any indication of that.

As the two of you stepped out of the car you walked into the Pinkerton office where men in black trench coats with wands and rifles stood. This didn’t look good at all as the only reason they would be armed would be if they found something really big. Thankfully you had explained everything to Harmony and thankfully she hadn’t been too angry at you however she had become deathly silent as the distance between the three of you and the door began to close.

As you entered the office you soon found a man, your contact you had spoken with on the phone sitting at a desk he gestured for you to sit which you refused having Harmony sit instead while you stood behind your hands on her shoulders. Then he spoke.

“Mr. BlackThorn it took us a while but based on the information you gave us we found her.”

You could feel Harmony’s grip on Anthony slightly tighten. Before the man continued. “We found her at Arwick’s Mental Asylum apparently she had been admitted eight years ago under a false identity.” You tightened your own grip on Harmony’s shoulders as you and her listened intently as to what he had to say.

“After some aggressive negotiation we managed to check her out of the Asylum but not without complications.” Whoever checked her into the asylum didn’t want her out as after we left with her in tow we came under attack by unknown elements.”

“Needless to say we had a few wounded but no deaths however we managed to bring her here but she speaks to no one reacts to nothing our own doctors says she is alive and certainly sees and knows what is happening but she doesn’t respond to stimuli of any kind.”

“As of this moment I can’t guarantee her safety unless we move her to one of our safe houses immediately.” The man said sitting back. As you looked down you saw a single tear streak down Harmony’s face before more began to fall Anthony all the while laid asleep unbeknownst to his mother’s crying.

“No a safe house won’t do I don’t think it’ll be in her best interests besides I think I know a place where she’ll be safe however after this kind of work I think I can’t risk the Pinkerton Agency to handling security on these terms.” You said causing the man sitting across from you to begin to sweat. You took out an envelope sliding it to the man across the desk before speaking.

“I spoke with the Owner and CEO and as of two days ago Pinkerton Security and Private Eye is now a subsidiary of BlackThorn industries meaning you all directly work for me now.” You said as the man began reading the note.

“Nothing’s changed you will all still carry out your work however we will be expanding this agency to better suit the security needs of myself and the BlackThorn corporate needs so for now I need Mrs. Ashcroft to be relocated and loaded onto my train and of course I’ll need additional security so call in everyone you need.” Like thunder the men began to move into action their black fedoras and trench coats moving in the shadowy office that was the Pinkerton Wellington Branch.

As the agents began to move and make preparations before it was just you her and a still sleeping Anthony. You could see Harmony silently weeping as she held Anthony who was still sound asleep snoring without a care in the world. You wrapped your arms around the two being careful not to crush Anthony. “We found her its over we’ll get her moved someplace safe and then we’ll get her better you’ll see I spared no expense in doing this maxim won’t be an issue for you and her.” You said wiping a tear off of Harmony’s cheek.

She only nodded wiping a few tears before looking down and smiling. “He’s definitely your son even with all this ruckus and everything going on around him he still sleeps.” You smiled stroking Anthony’s blond locks as you and Harmony watched your son sleep soundly.

“We’ll be going to Princeton to my folk’s farm I’ll send a telegram as soon as we board the train.” Harmony looked up at you worried before replying. “What about the dueling league? What if you lose your spot because your not on campus during the selection?” Harmony said worried. You only nodded before replying. “It’s important but family is more important then anything else even my own life.” You said.

“Harmony you have the chance to reconnect and be with your mother hell she gets to meet her grandson I met my mom but she won’t get the chance to hold Anthony you have that chance but only if she gets better and I know I wouldn’t miss this for the world.”

“What about your plans with Pierce? What are you gonna tell him?” You chuckled. “I’ll just tell him to bring the guns with him and we can go to one of the ranges in Princeton remember your husband is the owner of BlackThorn industries the fastest growing steel, lumber, train and now security company in the magical world you think I didn’t think ahead?” You said smiling.

Harmony only rolled her eyes wiping away the last of her tears. “Yet you still have only straight Cs in all of you classes the number one up and coming industrialist who managed to create a whole new industry, buy and create a powerful monopoly and do it all in the short span of a year can’t figure out how to get all A’s.” Harmony said giggling.

“Well why try to get all A’s and lose time I could spend asleep in these F-Cups.” You said groping one of Harmony’s breasts. She only smiled swatting your hand before the two of you walked out of the office. Things were looking up for once.
