What?
Rage.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!" you bellow, turning on your heel and glowering at her.
Selas recoils at your fury and takes a half-step backwards before frowning and straightening her back. "I had our daughter," she snaps, spreading her wings out and floating up above your head. "That's what the fuck I did."
Growling, you expend the energy that you didn't give her and make yourself larger, to the point of bonking the top of your head against the ceiling, so that she can't look down at you. "We had a deal Selas. That we would raise our children together. You took her away from me."
"Well she's here now. You can help raise her now," she snarls, floating even higher to glare at you evenly. "And you don't get to yell at me. I did not spend five fucking months in agonizing labor, just to have you yell at me when I get fucking back!"
"OH! OH! Oh for-fucking-give me, your highness! Five months in labor, holy shit! Let me remind you, that it was YOUR BLOODY IDEA!"
"My bloody idea?!"
"YES! I just wanted to minimize damage to my own people. And you took it upon yourself to get knocked up! And for me to knock your friends up! Are they going to be as indignant as you when their time comes?!"
"You selfish prick! That wasn't for your people, that was for yourself! I'm in your fucking head! I know what you're thinking!"
The two of you argue and scream for hours, like an old bickering couple, slinging insults and frustrations at each other until you're both hoarse and blue in the face, ending only when you duck out of the guestroom door and slam it so hard that the stones around it split and crumble.
In the middle of the night, you're sitting in a chair, hands clasped together, growling furiously and frowning darkly at the rut you've paced in the floor, brooding over the severe injustice you've just been dealt.
In the incredibly short time of you being a bachelor to being a father, you may not have been the happiest person in the world, but you do know what you should have been there for. Your daughter's birth. Her first laugh. Her first cry. Her first word. Her first step. Picking her up and comforting her when she fell.
All that and more. Robbed from you in another dimension.
Not to mention how your other partner is doing. In the midst of all your yelling, you never got around to asking about them.
A knock at the door grabs your attention. "Pardon me Sir, but there's someone here to see you." Grimmsby says, opening it.
Turning your head, you see him usher in the little girl you've just met. She looks incredibly nervous, but Grimmsby just smiles and nods at her, telling her to go in. After looking from him to you, she grabs on tighter to what must be the demon version of a teddy bear, takes a deep breath and slowly walks towards you.
You let out the angry breath you were holding, watching her make her way over and climb into the sofa next to you. Seeing this little girl, your own daughter, put her teddy bear between you, to keep her safe from you, fills you with a sense of shame. Fury gives way to fatigue, and you have to rest your head on your hands to sigh. "So... you're my... Daddy...?" she asks, her voice shaking.
Taking your own deep breath, you straighten up and look at her. Trying to keep your face soft and your tone warm, you nod at her. "Yes. Yes I am. And what was your name again? Olenia?" Her lips become tight, and she nods at you. "It's nice to finally meet you, Olenia."
Despite what you think is a friendly affable tone, you see her frown and hunker down in her seat, before opening her mouth to speak.
