"I don't like you."

Olenia scowls at you from behind her teddy bear. "And I don't want you for a Daddy. I want someone else to be my Daddy."

Why you were surprised by that, you may have no idea. "You don't like me and don't want me to be your dad? Why?"

"Because you were loud, and mean to Mommy," she replies with a frown, "and Nanny said that people who are mean to Mommy are bad people."

Taking in a breath, you let it out heavily. "Olenia... the thing is... your mother and I..." you begin, trying to piece together exactly how you feel and how best to word it. "It's, it's very complicated between me and her. I mean, your mother... took you away from me before you were born, and... I was very angry with her about that. And now that the two of you are here... I'm, I'm..." you let out another long sigh and rub your face with your hands, "I'm a very confused man at the moment."

The human-demon hybrid child studies you quietly for a long time, watching you as you wrestle with yourself, before shuffling off her seat and holding out her teddy bear to you. "This is Zanthar. Mommy and Nanny got him for me, and said that if I'm ever feeling sad, that he'll make me feel better."

Looking to her, and unsure if that bit of compassion is coming from you, you smile at her and take hold of Zanthar's arm. "Thank you Olenia. He does make me feel better now." She smiles warmly at you, the tip of one fang peeking out from behind her lip. Taking a steadying breath, you stand and gingerly ruffle her hair. Maybe there is hope for humanity. Holding your hand out to her, you say, "Come on. Let's go find your mother and I'll tell her I'm sorry for yelling at her. Maybe we can see how we can work things out huh?"

Olenia swaps her hands around, takes your finger in her hand and trails Zanthar behind her, walking with you to navigate the maze of halls that is your home to go track down Selas. All the way there, you take the time to meet your daughter, and for her to meet her father.
