Chakra flow

Ty Lee is giving little excited claps as she walks over to the box of scrolls. She pulls out a particularly large one and rolls it out on the floor. I stand and shuffle to her in my chains to have a look.

"This is your contract Sato, it covers everything I told you plus some minor details. There is one thing we have to do before you can sign it though."

Oh here we go already adding things "Yeah... What's that?"

"You need to let me read your chakra flow, It will allow me to feel your intent among other things"

I raise an eyebrow at this... Chakra flow? I know some people believe in that stuff but I always had my doubts it was real. If it actually is real I don't like the idea of someone feeling my intent or whatever, but I guess it couldn't hurt.

"I mean... Ok..."

She gives a warm smile "Thank you for being understanding Sato! Now all I need from you is to close your eyes. I will put my hand on your chest and I just want you to focus on the warmth it emits, focus on each of my fingers. Then I want you to imagine a door opening in the center of my palm opening ok?"

Oh great... Just as I thought this is some nonsense... But fine whatever gets me out of this place as soon as possible. I give a nod as she approaches me and waits for me to close my eyes. Once I do I feel her reach up under my shirt and slowly push her soft hand down on the center of my chest. I hate when people touch me but atleast she asked first.

I instantly feel intense warmth slowly spreading through my core, it almost feels like her hand is vibrating waves of heat. I let out a deep breath as the warmth starts spreading further and further... It feels amazing! I remember her words and picture the door on her hand, I then mentally swing it open with no regard.

The first thing I feel is the warmth spread all the way to my toes. My body feels like its on fire! I feel better than I have in years! I'm breathing so hard all of a sudden! What is this!?! That's when I hear a small whimpering noise cut through the tingling ecstacy in my mind. I open my eyes and see Ty Lee standing infront of me with her eyes closed, I'm disturbed to see she is sobbing with a look of pain on her face! I quickly back away from her breaking the contact with her hand.

She immediately recoils away from me and winces over and over like she is experiencing some kind of pain. She grabs her left wrist and opens her teary eyes looking scared for a moment. I'm in shock, I don't know what to do or how to help her... What the hell was that!?! She is breathing as hard as I am niw as she shakes her head.Then suddenly she stops seemingly regaining her composure. She then gives a weak smile as she approaches me, I try to back away from her but she isn't stopping. This is what you do Sato, you hurt people. Finally my back is against the wall and she lightly strokes my face as she speaks.

"I'm so sorry Sato, I'm sorry you have to feel like this, I should have found you sooner... I'm just so sorry."

I don't know what I'm feeling right now... Panic?... Shame?... Fear?... I still can't comprehend what just happened or what she is talking about for that matter. I pull my face away from her hand best I can. I don't know why I feel so emotional, but I don't like it... I speak now in a breathless raspy voice.

"I hurt you... didn't I?"

"Aww Sato no, I'm fine, I just felt a little more than I was expecting. It was a little bit of a shock, nothing more, I'm fine I promise."

I look away from her unable to accept her comforting gaze. I can still see the tears on her cheek, I know she is lying to me. I don't know why I even care, I don't know this woman. Besides this is just probably some kind of trick to get under my skin, be smart Sato.

"I should have warned you how intense that could feel... Heh sorry about that (she gives a little nervous laugh)... But from what I felt you are a perfect candidate for this program, You just need to sign the contract and we will leave immediately Sato."

I consider backing out if all this, telling her to keep her weird parlor tricks and false hope and let me go back to my cell. But I already verbally agreed, that's a contract in my book. Without saying a word to her I shuffle over to the scroll, take the brush, and sign my name. I then shuffle to the door and just stare at it waiting to leave and forget whatever the hell that just was.

I hear her gather some things in the box of scrolls and just like that we are leaving the room. As the door opens I see that girl guard again, out of the corner of my eye I see Ty Lee nod to her. I see a massive grin break out on the other side of her masked helmet.

"Ah I'm so proud of you Sato this is the first step! I can't wait to see what you will do with your fresh start!" She jumps forward to give me a hug but I'm ready this time, I side step her making her nearly fall into the wall. She catches herself with her hands and giggles as I stare at her with dead eyes.

"Aw Sato, you know that just makes me want that hug more right!?!"

I avoid her gaze as she straightens up and turns to Ty Lee "Ma'am the airship has already landed and is awaiting your departure... I'm going to wrap up some paperwork here and and be on the next ship out."

Ty Lee gives a small bow, as does the girl. She then turns and starts her way down the hallway. I feel a question bubbling in my mind and for whatever reason I just blurt it out before she gets to far away.

"Hey girl... What's your name?"

She laughs "God I've waited months for you to ask, It's Cordelia! Don't forget it chump!"

I smile a little, that girl never changes I swear. I see Ty Lee staring at me from the side and quickly I straighten my face. She puts a hand on my shoulder softly.

"I like her too, now let's get you blindfolded and on this ship young man"

I scoff at her comment, I don't even know what she is talking about, that girl means nothing to me. She very gently ties the blindfold on my eyes, it's not my favorite feeling in the world but it's protocol in this prison. When you come in or leave you have to be blindfolded, it's supposed to help keep you unaware of your surroundings incase you escape or whatever. She leads me down countless hallways and up so many stairs before we arriveat what I assume is the roof. We walk up a plank and onto the ship quickly.

As I sit down into the seat I can't help but marvel at how comfy it feels. Damn I missed things like this, such a simple luxury you take for granted. I hope I never feel that hard scratchy prison cot again, though I imagine I will someday.

Of course Ty Lee chooses to sit right next to me, she's so close our legs are touching each other. This woman confounds me, I'm not sure what to think of her. She seems naive in alot of ways, but I get a sense she is smarter than she lets on. I think this bubbly "nice girl" thing might be an act to get something from me, or manipulate me somehow. Well good luck with that sister, in my years on the street plenty of honey pots tried to seduce me, to no avail. I don't have time to walk on the mine field that is woman, I've seen to many men I respect go down that way. Remember Sato never take your eye off the next job.

The engines are loud for a few minutes but they start getting quite eventually, we must be hitting cruising altitude. Ty Lee pinches my thigh to get my attention before speaking.

"So tell me Sato is this your first time on an airship?"

Bleh small talk "No I've been on one once before... Though I didn't really care for it."

"Oh really why not?"

"It's... A long story" This lady asks far to many questions.

She giggles "Well we have nowhere to be, atleast give me the short version... Come on you know you wanna."

Sheesh how much of this story can I really tell? "Well... Fine the short version... It was a few years back, I was doing business with the Iron Hawk gang on their lead airship. Normally I would never deal with the likes of them, even in my world they are scum bags of the highest order, but these were extenuating circumstances. About half way through the negotiations they decided to betray me and we had some words about it... After a tussle with the leader of the gang I may or may not have set off an explosion that lit the ship on fire. It aided my escape to be sure, but honestly these ships burn quicker than you would imagine... Hitting the water at those speeds was definitely unpleasant, even with my bending (I ponder for a moment) I really regret doing all that though, that ship was a thing of beauty, such a waste to let the ocean have it."

To my surprise Ty Lee bursts out laughing "seriously Cordi said you were funny, but you are too much Sato!"

I smirk a little but I don't really understand what was funny. I really wanted that damn ship, the smuggling capabilities were off the charts. She squeezes my thigh tightly, God her fingers always feel so warm. I want to take her hand off of me, but for some reason I let her keep it there. I guess maybe it's because I'm blindfolded, it's a **** thing and it's nice to know someone is close by and looking out for you.

She begins to lightly massage my leg, her fingers are so strong they push through my muscle with ease. Damn why does it feel so good? My body begins feeling lighter and lighter with each passing second. I give a hearty yawn, Maybe it couldn't hurt to take a nap. I know I'll have the same nightmares as always, but atleast this time when I wake up it won't be to add another tally to my wall...
