Read the letter.

You tear the paper around the wax seal, and pull out a piece of paper within. Then you unfold it and glance over the beautiful calligraphy written out, though there's still no name. With your party members pressed up around you in hopes of catching a glimpse of what's on the letter, you decide it would be best to read it aloud so that they can hear.

"All right. Let's see." You clear your throat. "To Lord Kyle Warren, Demon King. You are cordially invited to an important meeting of the elite atop the peak of Areochi come nightfall of the seventeenth. There are many like us out there, threatening the world with our own selfish ideals of change. I believe that communication is both important and ideal for individuals such as ourselves. Imagine how empowered one may be when in contact with others of similar power. But I digress. If you choose to come, we will supply refreshments and enjoy a mature meeting of the minds. There will be no fighting. Of course, to hopefully minimize such a threat, you may bring two allies with you. I would not ask one to come alone. Let us see what we can learn from gathering face to face, whether it be a reunion, or a very first meeting."

"This is a rather large deal," Amara says. "I have never heard of a meeting of Demon Kings. If Tivera were to find out about this, they would feel incredibly threatened. I believe going may be incredibly beneficial simply for the pursuit of knowledge."

She's right. I'm no villain here, but what if everyone else going is totally evil? This might be my chance to learn about future enemies.

Yin speaks up. "Master, please be careful," she whispers as she entangles your arm in a comforting warm squeeze. "This sounds very dangerous."

Vex motions her hand for you to hurry up. "Another devil, eh? Well, tell your wife to let you go. I don't want to stand around your castle all day. Just decide already so we can get moving. People in Khorheim will probably have no idea who you are, but some of us need to prepare. I'm not saying I couldn't take on a bunch of dwarves, though I'd rather not have to destroy the city."

"Yeah. I better go," you reply.

Yin slowly releases you, but only to cover up her face with both hands. "W-Wife?"

"No not that decision, you bumpkin. Who you're taking," Vex says.

That's right. The letter says to bring two allies. I can't bring my whole party. You turn to face Eva, Amara, and Niki.

Eva plants her hands on her hips. "If you choose me, you'll have my expert magical skills at your side."

"What is this, a job interview?" you ask.

"I suppose I will support you with my magic as always," Amara says with a nervous smile. "But this will hopefully not end in a battle, so it may not be required."

"And I'll bring the pain!" Niki shouts.

"That's the opposite of what we want!" you reply.

I guess I better just pick two of them. Let's see here. Niki is definitely not someone built for diplomatic meetings, though if things do go south, it would be nice to have her as my tank. Eva is smart, though kinda immature. She's certainly more fitting for the situation, though I also don't want her raising her voice to the other Demon Kings. Amara is kind, though she doesn't talk much. Unless it comes to blows, her use will be a comfortable presence, and probably not much else.
