Dancing with the wind

The next few days go well, and Sadie quickly becomes friends with the other girls. Her energy and enthusiasm rub off on everyone, and it’s simply impossible to dislike her.

One day you wake up, and untangling yourself from a still-sleeping Lynn, you make your way to the kitchen. On the way, you hear music, and singing. It sounds like Sadie found your music collection. You walk into the dining room to see her singing along and dancing to the music.

You smile, watching her sing and dance, her eyes closed and a smile on her face. Her blue hair swirls around her as she sways to the music.

Her eyes open, and her smile broadens as she sees you watching her. She continues singing, eyes locked to yours.

And I see you and you see me/Your eyes are like a raging sea/I know it's you, I know it's true/I gazed into them once in a dream

Dancing over to you, she extends a pale blue hand to you, pulling you into her dance.

Oh my love come take my hand/Like you did in my dreamland/You feel the immortality/It's you and I until eternity

She rests her forehead against yours as she dances with you, and you can see the smile in her blue eyes as you move to the music with her. She never stops singing along, her melodious voice filling your ears.

As the music calms for the final verse, her dance slows to simply swaying and holding you. You feel the slight breeze around her as she seemingly sings directly to you.

With a smile, she dances away, singing the chorus as she twirls, before dancing back to you for the final lines.

As the music fades, you gather her into a hug, and she almost purrs as she snuggles against you. Suddenly, someone begins clapping, and both of you almost jump out of your skin.

“That wasss lovely, both of you. Sssadie, your voice is amazing, and clearly you had Josh ssswooning.” Elys is leaning against the doorframe with a smile on her face.

You blush, letting go of Sadie. “She really is mesmerizing, isn’t she. I almost forgot we were in the dining room...”

“I could tell. A few more sssecondsss and you would be making out on the table.”

Sadie giggles, “Sorry! I get really into the music sometimes. You know how it is.”

Elys smiles and nods. “I do. And if I wasssn’t planning on eating at the table, I’d leave you two to it. But itsss time for breakfast, lovebirdsss.”

You nod. “We can continue another time, Sadie. I promise. I’m glad you’re settling in here though.”

Sadie gives you a kiss on the cheek. “You promised I would be happy and safe here, and you were right! Thank you, Josh.” She leans closer to your ear and whispers. “And we will definitely continue this later.”
