Charlene mercifully decided to go shopping in the neighbouring town so as to avoid people who might know Andrew.

In a farmer’s market series of stalls, the two picked out fresh produce for healthy meals.

Eventually Charlene sent Andrea on an errand to get some kumquats, and after finally locating some, ‘she’ started to make her way back to Charlene, only to see Brian’s mother Emily perusing the stalls near ‘her’ mother.

If Emily turned around, she would encounter Charlene, and they would inevitably strike up a conversation, having known each other through their sons.

And if Emily saw both Andrea and Charlene together in the same place, she could potentially realise that there was only one letter between Andrew and Andrea, and everything could come crashing down around them.
