Andrea distracts Emily

Making a split second impulse, Andrea bounded over to Brian’s mother and loudly greeted, “Emily, hi!”.

This drew Emily’s, several passers-by, and Charlene’s sudden attention, the latter of which quickly made sense of the situation and made herself scares.

“Oh, you startled me! Andrea my dear, how are you? Did you have a good time with Brian last night? He hasn’t stopped talking about you and the concert since last weekend you know”, Emily asked, pleased to be chatting with her son’s girlfriend.

“Oops, sorry! I sometimes forget to use my inside voice when I’m like outside, lol. I’ve been super fab, thanks! Brian’s been really really great, and we’re totally stoked for the concert this weekend! Thank you so much again! I can’t wait for our date!”, Andrea enthusiastically answered.

‘Oh my word, she is so precious! And it looks like she really does like Brian! That’s it, they’re blossoming romance can’t wait till Sunday. Time to play matchmaker!’, thought Emily.

“It’s not a problem dear, Brian’s looking forward to seeing you again too! In fact, are you free tomorrow evening? You see it’s just that me and my husband, Joel, had a table booked at La Chat Noir tomorrow night, but I’ve got a big project to work on and do not have the time. How about we save the booking, and you and Brian go in our stead? It’d be our treat”, Emily offered.

The story about having reserved was a complete lie; she was friends with the manager of the classy bistro and could easily squeeze a table for two out of him.

Andrea attempted to turn down the offer, not being thrilled at the prospect of a romantic dinner with ‘her’ real life best friend.

“Oh thank you so much, but I like couldn’t possibly- “; ‘she’ was interrupted by Emily’s dismissal.

“Oh tosh, think nothing of it, anything for you two love birds. Well I’ve got to hurry now, but I’ll give all the details to Brian and he can tell you. Toodles!”.

After Emily was long gone, Charlene reappeared.

“Heard what you two were gabbing on about; looks like my little darling’s gonna have her first candlelit dinner! We best get you ready and raring!”.

Back home, the rest of the day was spent removing Andrea’s waist trainer, teaching ‘her’ more flirting and dinner etiquette, applying face masks, and watching rom coms.

Brian did indeed text Andrea and arranged when to pick ‘her’ up, and Andrew about how psyched he was for the following evening.
