Matters of Importance

After things had settled down, You and the group got to talking, getting to know each other better, chatting, You, Artorias and Diana sat with Hilde who for the first time in ages, looked fully relaxed and genuinely cheerful, even around Rose.

"I am sorry... for your loss," Rose said.

Hilde for once didn't seem vexed just by Rose talking to her "I wouldn't wish it on my worse enemy, not even Morrigan, not even you. Keep yourself safe, don't be foolish, the miracle inside you comes first. understand?" She spoke softly.

Rose nodded, sat on your lap again and clutching your hand "I understand."

But Hilde's eyes turned to Diana, the two of you grimaced "You... I have different advice for, however."

Rose raised an eyebrow, so did Artorias, you felt a bead of sweat streak across your brow.

"W-What are you talking about?" Diana fronted, her nostrils flaring. You facepalmed, how did a Lawyer have such an obvious tell that she was lying.

Artorias peered at his daughter "What's going on here, what do you know that I don't-" He stopped, and sniffed. He sniffed again like a baying bloodhound, his head moving in accordance with the scent until he was crouched at Diana's feet, his eyes wide as He reached out a gentle hand and touched the small of her stomach.

Diana gulped as a look of realisation filled him "My god..."

"What?" Rose asked confused, though she looked back and saw the truth in her eyes.

"You're pregnant, aren't you?" Artorias asked with a wide smile.

Diana frowned "I don't know-umm, well I do but... It's just a feeling."

"You bound yourselves together didn't you?" Hilde asked, "You made a Twin Covenant!"

You scrambled nervously "W-We didn't mean for it to happen, I-I mean, I meant to use protection but-" Why were they smiling at you? "You... don't look as angry as I anticipated?"

Hilde laughed, Artorias joined her "Stupid boy, this is fantastic, do you know nothing about Descendant Biology at all?"

"A-A little?" You squeaked.

"For the year that I was pregnant, I wiped out 6 minor clans in Europe, and 1 Major in the Balkans," Hilde said with a smile.

Diana blinked "What? but... what about Talia?"

Artorias lent in "Descendant men have the Allure, they are stronger and faster too, but a pregnant Descendant woman could take out 20 descendant males before the end of breakfast." He chuckled.

"They have their strengths, we have ours, it just so happens that one of ours is that during pregnancy, our motherly instincts manifest in doubling even sometimes tripling out strength, we become like a well of vitality and power."

Diana touched her stomach "Surely if you got into a fight with while pregnant... one wrong blow and-"

"-pft, do you have any idea what's going on inside of you right now? You're baking god-level tiers of bread in that oven. A being with perfect Genes, it is impossible to miscarriage a Descendant, Didi." Hilde smiled.

You felt something then, a rise of joy "You're saying, Diana can be pregnant and fight?"

"I'm saying be careful because she won't only be able to fight, she'll be more powerful than all of us by the end of this year, how do you think I surpassed Pops? not to mention she's immortal. that kid will probably be the Most powerful Descendant ever conceived." Hilde explained with a sunny voice.

Rose was being eerily quiet, Diana hadn't taken her eyes off her yet, apologetically staring, but Rose did not look angry, she looked thoughtful if anything. Hilde noticed this, but she kept silent, you had that weird feeling that something was being hidden from you again.

"I have no idea how I'm going to explain this to... certain people." You peered over at Jane and Cherry, laughing with Belle who was smiling widely.

"If you care for them, you won't keep it from them, from any of them." Hilde explained "...Rommie and I had been intimate before. But He was happy for me when I married Russel, he was his best man. You've both always gravitated towards good people, I see that in those girls, even the Blooded"

"They aren't like us, Hilde, to them it's still, Taboo," Diana muttered, you nodding in agreement.

"It doesn't matter, Hilde is right, I won't lie to them. But... give the word and my lips are sealed, we are in this together, Didi." You said.

Diana smiled at you "Come on then, better late than never. Rose, will you join us?"

Rose looked between you, but nodded "Very well."

The Three of you walked over to where the girls were chatting, leaving Hilde and Artorias to speak in private. You were afraid, afraid that one of them would react badly, especially Jane, you'd only just mended that bridge.

"Hey ladies." You greeted, taking a seat on the long, L-Shaped couch by the Bar... yes, you had a bar in your lounge...

"OMG, this is so awesome, Chip!" Cherry cried, jumping up and wrapping her arms around you "It was scary at first but you totally put all those Vampires in their place! hmm, I just wanna-"

"Will you cut it out, can't you hear how fast their hearts are beating they are obviously about to tell us something important!" Belle sassed.

Cherry let you go and raised and folded her arms "No, I cannot hear their heartbeats, because I'm a human, you moron."

Belle blinked, scratching her head "Oh yeah... right hehe."

Jane's eyes were locked on your sister's closeness to you "What did you want to tell us, Charlie?"

You took a deep breath, you were going to be calm, and concise just like Pop's "Diana'spregnant." You blurted out before you could stop yourself.

Smooth Drake, real smooth.

"Shut up! I'm fucking nervous!"

"That's amazing Ms Drake, Congrats!" Cherry smiled. But her sister's face fell a little, looking at you, then at Jane, seemingly understanding the predicament you were in.

"Whose the father?" Belle asked softly.

You looked at Jane, her brows rising as she started to put two and two together. Diana stepped forward "Charlie is."

"Oh..." Jane said blankly, then her face began to fall into itself, creasing in disgust "OH! what the fuck-"

"Waitwaitwaitwait! Jane." You caught her as she went to march off.

"Get your hands off me, that's sick she's your sister!" Jane grimaced.

But Diana wasn't having it "It's different, with descendants." She explained. "We are Biologically superior to Humans..."

Jane paused "How exactly does that change anything!? I've seen enough children who are the product of **** and I will not stand by and watch that!"

"We're born with perfect genes, Jane, I know... it's weird, but Descendants can't be born with defects." You explained.

Jane sighed and folded her arms "What about you?"

"What about me?"

"You... weren't exactly a ken doll before." She said, before frowning "Not that I... You know what I mean." Jane wanted to know about your birth, Cherry was very clearly interested.

"What did your Grandpa mean by Most of us, Chip?" Charlotte asked.

You sat them down, with Rose to your right and Diana to your left, and explained what you knew "I'm not exactly sure on the details but, from what I understand, it's possible for some Vampires to become pregnant. Upir they're called, Rose is one."

Jane peered at Rose who gave her a nod of confirmation.

"So normal Vampires can get pregnant?" Cherry had noticed the small frown on her sister's face and you did too, you looked to Belle apologetically.

"No. Only and Upir and a Descendant like me can have ba...." You stopped, clutching your head as you closed you locked your eyes shut, the vibrating pain sparking through your mind.

Rose darted forward quickly while Charlie was disoriented by the Trigger "My children are his." She spoke quickly, making Jane and Cherry look at each other "Do not, under any circumstance, ever ever tell him, or we will all die. am I clear?" She insisted.

He was too smart for his own good, he must have realised the moment he said it and scrubbed it out of his brain. To his knowledge, Nox wasn't a Descendant, but He was...

"Wha-" Jane started, only to be cut off

"No time, Just trust me." Rose pleaded, leaning back as his trigger began to wear off...

You blinked as you arose, coughing and rubbing your eyes as the dizziness began to subside. Another marker... fuck... you'd gone blank again.

"Hey, what was I talking about?"

"Just now, what was it!? I know you know!"

You looked around at them, narrowing your eyes "I'm gonna guess that whatever we were just talking about was a no-no?"

The Girls looked at each other, Cherry looked like she wanted to speak, but Belle shook her head at her.

Rose took your hand, and looked a little sad as her eyes locked with yours "It was nothing, you just had a bit of a stammer that's all."

Something very subtle clicked in your head and You chuckled "Oh... sorry, weird." You looked into her eyes and she looked into yours, there was something there, something that needed to be said; left unspoken

Diana swept up "Alright, how about we give these two a little space?"

Belle nodded, leaning down and kissing your cheek "Don't be a stranger." She smiled, though she grabbed her sister and walked over very fast, Cherry struggling angrily.

"Hey, I want a kiss goodbye, Chip! catch my Kisses!" She cried blowing kisses at you as Belle dragged her away, you smiled and mimed catching in the air... but Belle clearly wasn't taking the pregnancy thing as well as she pretended to.

Diana stood and walked up to Jane, folding her arms "We should have a word, You old enough to drink, Watson?" She asked, giving a coy smile.

Jane narrowed her eyes "I'll drink you under the table, granny."

"We'll see about that," Diana said confidently, the two walking over to the bar, Jane looked back at you and gave a small smile as the two went to talk.

And finally, leaving just you and Rose alone to talk.
