Border visit.

Next day found Queen Arerto and her escort mounted on white stallions heading to wards the border for a visit. They came to Bolipa which was Talia's second biggest city and was only two miles from the border. Bolipa was ruled over by Lord Griffin who was a bit of a tyrant at times. He was also self assured and never even considered that he was wrong and harbored ambitions to the throne. When they dismounted Arerto was given a quick tour and briefing which did not sound good. The northern tribes were massing at the border probably intent on invading Talia so Arerto decided to go see for herself.

Arerto and Sabine arrived at the small fortified village and headed to the commanders headquarters. There was no guard present outside and Arerto just wandered in and almost tripped over a figure laying on the ground.

"Hey who the hell is kicking me?"asked the soldier.

Then he looked and realized it was Queen Arerto and came to attention.

"What are you doing down soldier?"asked Sabine.

"Trying to get some sleep"replied the soldier.

"Well soldier get back down there.Your the only son of a bitch who knows what he is trying to do." remarked Arerto.

Arerto and Sabine headed around the corner and walked into the commanders office. The only person there was the commanders aide who stood to attention when he saw the Queen.

"Where is the commander of this post"asked Arerto.

"He is sleeping your majesty." replied the aide.

"Get him now. Not even noon and we have traveled from the capitol and he is asleep." said Arerto.

Arerto felt her blood starting to boil as she sat in the commanders chair waiting for his arrival. When he arrived she studied him and wondered how he had become commander.

"Commander you are fired now get out of this building"

She looked to the aide and told him he was the new commander and he had two days to whip the garrison into shape. Arerto then ordered the new commander to give her a tour.
