Chapter 7 by ohsoveryhorny ohsoveryhorny

Where does your grand tour stop first?

Nowhere; the two of you just go to class.

With the attitude Angel has been giving you, you aren't exactly thrilled to play tour guide any longer than necessary. You decide to use your first class as the first and only stop.

"So it looks like we have mostly the same schedule. How about we just head to class?" you say with a shrug, trying to keep your tone casual, though you can't completely hide your lack of enthusiasm. Angel shoots you a look, clearly picking up on your indifferent tone.

"Well, if you didn't want to show me around, you could have just said so," she snaps, snatching her schedule back from your hand. "I don't need your tour anyway." She turns on her heel and storms off on her own. You're pretty sure she'll be late to class—Mr. Babbage's classroom is tucked away in one of the school’s more obscure corners.

"Okay, suit yourself," you call after her. "Just don't blame me if you get lost." Slinging your backpack over your shoulder, you head out. As you do, your homeroom teacher lets out a snicker.

"Quite the lady's man, aren't we, John?" he chuckles, clearly amused.

You roll your eyes and keep walking. Calculus was never your favorite subject, even in college, but thanks to your previous life’s experience with higher-level math, AP Calculus is a breeze. You've got a foolproof plan: ace all the AP classes with your almost-college-degree knowledge, skip a few years of college, and use that time to finally get laid.

As you're lost in thought, Anna suddenly appears beside you, casually leaning against your arm, her head lightly brushing your shoulder.

"So, John," she begins slyly, "word on the street is you were chatting up a cute girl after homeroom. Who knew you had it in you?"

'If only you weren’t so oblivious, you’d have noticed all my attempts at flirting with you,' you think bitterly. Ever since elementary school, your awkward, teenage self has been trying to level up your relationship with Anna like you’re stuck in a bad dating sim. All for that one moment when you're both legal, and you can finally make your move. But here you are, freshly 18, and not even a happy birthday from your so-called best friend. Maybe you really are doomed to be pathetic, even in this new life.

"Hello, earth to John!" Anna's giggle snaps you out of your thoughts. "Your cute childhood friend just wished you happy birthday, and you're not even going to acknowledge it?" Oh, spoke to soon about not getting a happy birthday from her. She leans in closer, her perfume enveloping you. "Or are you too busy thinking about that new girl in your homeroom?"

Before you can come up with a response, she skips off toward her class. "Anyway, have fun in nerd math! I'll be in dumb people math, learning how to draw shapes with crayons," she calls out, the distance between you growing. Anna was never great at math and science, but she's far from unintelligent. If it weren't for her, you would've never passed any of your English classes.

What do you do now?
