Chapter 3 by SilasCrowley SilasCrowley

Filistra awaits your answer...

... -and you fling a chain onto her wrist!

You now understand why worship of Naridawakil existed, knowing what awful fate awaited his cultists. Now that your life's work is gone and the love of your life has spurned you, you at least feel a surprising comfort as cold, infernal chains slink through the floors and walls to bind with your body.

Cracks and fractal breaks appear on your skin where Naridawakil's shackles affix themselves to you, as he so promised he would in your lowest hour... "Filistra- do you know what I was going to do, had you made me herald?" You groan aloud; you feel only a mild, dull aching pain as ths shackles affix to your bones.

The hooded matron's teeth show in a slow grimace she wears throughout your shackling: she recognizes the chains, but only shows you a look of disappointment and agitation. "You'd have tried to kill me?" She asks with a thin, dry smirk- while drawing a thin, obsidian-and-gold wand from her under her robes.

You'd definitely not have been the first to try. "I'd have brought you as close to me as possible, embracing you until your last day." You answer with deep conviction... -and you hear a **** in Filistra's throat: a duel to the **** right now would not have made her flinch, but the madness you just spoke certainly did.

Her hand on her wand does not ease for your confession, however. "Then you should've followed my orders and come back to kneel at my feet. I might have touched you with them." She taunts, while pointing her wand towards your heart: a foul green-black orb of rotted magic erupts at the tip like an astral pustule-

-but a slithering shackle had already crept unto her wrist! Pulling up at the moment she casts her bolt of blight, she fires it uselessly into the ceiling. "-Rrgh!" She growls with gritted teeth and glazed eyes: she is already trying to cast another spell, but with one chain around her wrist now, it is blocking her use of Grevakhnu's power.

You feel everything through the chains: mostly transparent, they drift through the room, and what they touch- you feel in your bones as if their links were antennae. It's an eerie sense- difficult, too. You feel a headache and a slight nausea in you: you're not used to this power.

You realize you don't have long until Filistra figures out she can still use her free hand to cast a spell...

What do you do?
