Syri found herself paralyzed, a passenger in her own body as she and her family were pushed off. Just a second prior, she peered down only to see the world so little, the forest surrounding them appearing like moss spreading over the garden. That's what scared her the most, how far away everything looks from up high, and how quickly the view can grow when you fall.
She had never felt so light and feeble in such a long time, her silver white hair flowing in her peripheral vision and the view of that woman shrinking until only she was pulled away. Something was grabbing her arm, squeezing her tight and shouting... shouting? Yes, her ears began to twitch and catch once her sister's words became decipherable. Soon Syri felt herself gaining control.
"Syri... Syri! Syri!"
She pulled away, catching her breath and turning fast as they continued to fall. Dimyri held onto her arm, pulling herself close and pointing at the towers exterior several feet away.
"The claws, grab on!!"
Right. With a heavy rush settling in, Syri reached out to come one foot short from contact with it. Extending her claws helped a little, but still she was inches off. Her heart was racing, given they were in the air it felt impossible for her to somehow propell herself forward no matter how desperate, wiggling her paws around as panic grew.
When suddenly two long tails grabbed her paw and pulled her in the pairing of friction and gravity took over. As her claws sunk in further, Syri felt herself pulled toward its surface with Dimyri hugging her tightly from behind. Both their added weight left them hitting the wall in impact, with Syri's chest taking most of the oomph. She squeaked, gritting her teeth and keeping hold onto the tower as their lives depended on it.
Looking up, daylight had began to arrive and the new rays of sunrise glittered and focused on their savior above them, their Aunt Zimi. Looking down, she nodded back at the girls before motioning for them to look down. Dimyri did so, whispering to her sister after.
"Syri, look down."
"No." Her voice cracked as she shook her head quickly, her eyes kept shut. "No I don't want to see how high we are."
"Trust me sis, look down. Just this time."
With a light squeak, she dared part her eyelids open and took a quick peek down. She smiled and chuckled nervously, much to her relief they were only a few meters from the ground level.
"Oh good, we're not far hehe, ohh my." Wiggling her bottom, they slowly slid inch by inch until Dimyri hopped off, brushing her legs. Zimi dropped behind her, but Syri remained put.
"Syri dear, you can let go now."
"Oh, I'm not on the ground yet? S-Sorry, just need a second til I can feel my legs." She turned around, hesitant before pulling her claws away and falling on her butt. "Eep! My tails."
Dimyri pulled her on her feet, glancing up to the top of the tower.
Retrieving his lasso, Raz quickly pushed past the two escapees and leaned over the balcony. The three girls were tiny specks from this height, glancing up and running away. The soldiers had tied KuliKuli and Reta down, being firm with the knots over their wrists. Na'Vi growled and thrashed around in her bag, whining as she began to submit in time. Once Perdilius had arrived, the soldiers stood up in attendance and well positioned, keeping the girls in front for his viewing.
Perdilius stood beside the one holding the bag. His glance was enough for the soldier to tilt his head up. A quick peak into the bag was enough to suffice before tying the knot over once more. Turning over, his eyes fell onto Reta and KuliKuli before walking up to Raz.
"Where are the others?"
Raz looked down, swallowing. "They fled over the balcony-"
Perdilius growled, pushing him aside and heading to the balcony.
"Tell me they somehow survived."
"They have, sir."
"Good. I will not allow the Hunter to try again, his reluctance his proof enough of his inability to perform."
Raz turned his head to face him. "Father, let me bring them back."
He scoffed.
"Give me this chance and I will bring them back in forty-eight hours."
"You flatter me boy, though it would be a blessing to be true I cannot say I have faith. Who are among the ones who fled?"
"There are three escapees. Two of them are her siblings."
"The ones we require." He hissed, rubbing his chin. "We haven't much choice, I believe you are up for this task."
"This won't be like last time. No protectors now, no Grizzlies. No Archers. The girls are alone."
"And what of the remaining group hidden with the forest, should they encounter them? They will be sheltered, taken, and hidden. Again."
Raz stood quiet, pondering before opening his eyes. "I'll bring my arsenal this time."
"Hmm... perhaps. You've failed me before, the Gods do not care for second chances."
"Please dad!" Perdilius shot him a look, forcing Raz back. "Em, please Father. I swear, give me one more chance and I will make you proud."
Perdilius scoffed and turned his back to him. "Ridiculous, fine then. Go now, retrieve what is taken from me. Do not come back a failure once more."
He waved his hand while shooting his son a look of warning. "Until it is done, now be gone."
Raz nodded silently and went on the move, stepping onto the gear as it began to descend.
KuliKuli looked over at Perdilius, her arms twisted behind her back in an uncomfortable position.
"I guess not all pets are Monsters." She mentioned with a smirk to his face.
With an icy stare, he returned the smile. "But all Monsters are pets. Take them under, we shall begin our preparations for the ritual at once."
