A road block!

"It looks like a tree fell down across the road." answered Jace as he realized they couldn't go around the fallen tree. It didn't look too big and he hoped he'd be able to quickly move it.

He stopped the van several feet before the tree and told Kelly, "Wait here I'll be right back." Jace picked up a handgun and tucked it into his belt - just in case.....

The young man shut off the van and opened his door as he prepared to somehow 'muscle' the tree out of the way.

Closing the door Jace began to walk towards the blockade.

About half the distance to the fallen tree some movement out of the corner of his eye caught his attention and he turned to see two large men coming out of the bushes by the roadside.

They were over 6" tall and looked like they hadn't shaved or bathed in a while as they quickly walked towards Jace pointing two shotguns at him.

Jace considered going for his own gun but then saw two more rough looking men appear out of the bushes, on his other side, carrying **** rifles.

"Don't be stupid son..." said one of the guys pointing his gun directly at Jace.

Jace froze in his tracks as he saw two more huge men approaching the van from behind it.

They were completely out numbered as Jace lowered his hand away from his gun and held his arms out to his sides.

The young man realized that they weren't zombies but a gang of outlaws who set a trap for unsuspecting motorists.

Two of the men came up to Jace and pulled the handgun from his belt. They smelled of the woods and of B.O. and Jace wanted to hold his nose at their foul stench.

Jace swallowed hard as he remembered his innocent little sister still sitting in the van.
