Try the big doors straight ahead

Keeping a wary eye to your right side you resheath your gladius and reach for the door handle with your free hand. The polished metal handle feels cool in your hand and the action of the mechanism in the door is smooth. As the handle turns down you hear a faint click inside the door and you push firmly on the door eager to see the wealth behind this portal. The door barely moves. Damn, you had hoped the door would be left unlocked.

If the quality of the lock is comprable to the rest of the door, you can forget about forcing it with the tip of your knife. Bracing your feet on the polished tile floor you turn the door handle again and rock your entire body hard against the door. As your shoulder slams into the door it shudders slightly but you hear none of the cracking of wood or screaching of metal that you had hoped for. This door will take either the right key or an axe to open you decide.

There are still three doors to your left as well as the door to your right where you saw the movement earlier. From downstairs you hear the sound of pottery being shattered and grunts and moans of a woman pleasing a man.
