Friday: Afternoon

You were tired it been a busy week with lots of test and quizzes but you had figured it out. Harmony had taken and elective exam during the week and she had found it besides psionic magic she had developed an affinity for life magic! What were the odds she would develop the one kind of magic you were horrible at.

You were planning on taking a magical potential test as you had never taken one and while it probably wouldn’t matter anymore the school still needed it for their records. Harmony had gotten a 93 on the test and on a scale of 1 to 100 was that was pretty good normally the test was graded in public after the pin ceremony but with your debut it didn’t end up happening for you.

Harmony was by blood an Ashcroft one of the five magical families the others being the Hallgraves, Kyries and the Eldrics. However aside from the Ashcroft family the others had died off either through war, illness or other means leaving only the Ashcrofts left and with Harmony having been disowned well things were uneasy for them now.

You were going to change that however you had already begun reversing the damage done to your family name and while you hated the old bastard your mother whether she was alive or not took the BlackThorn name and you were going fix it no matter what challenges laid ahead of you. The working class people had already begun to appreciate the BlackThorn name as you had begun expanding your company very rapidly and were now making real money.

You shook your head clearing your mind as your train pulled into the station. Standing up you looked around wonder where Harmony and your aunt Sadie was neither of them had arrived yet. You looked around before seeing your aunt and girlfriend walking up some stairs talking excitedly before the saw you and made their way over to you.

“Are you ready to go the train is here already and while I know Jenkins will wait for us I don’t want to wait here all day!” You stated. “Alright alright we’re coming we’re coming.” Your aunt Sadie said as you boarded the train followed by your girlfriend and the finally your aunt.

As the train began moving you let the girls to the passenger cab before moving on. “Wait hold on where are you going?” Aunt Sadie asked You stopped before turning to face her. “I am going to my office where else could I go? If you get hungry or need anything tug on that string behind you.” You said pointing to a tug string on the wall behind them. With those words you opened the door before moving into the next car. Sliding the door open revealed a large steel reinforced door with no keyhole only a small rotating wheel like those found on bank vaults. Taking your hand you pressed into the door before removing it leaving a blue sigil on the door. Soon another sigil appeared surround the sigil you placed in the door before the door unlocked with a click.

The door slid closed as you entered the dark train cab that served as your office. You sighed before drawing your wand and casting a small blue fire on the tip of your wand. Soon on the ceiling sigils lit up in blue dimly illuminating the cab like neon lights. Setting your wand down on your wide oak desk you made your way to another section of your cab where a simple black circular rug was.

Sitting down the rug you breathed in and then out calming your mind allowing it wander before you felt the familiar sensations of the void run through your body. You concentrated trying to guide yourself as best as you could hopefully it would work. You opened your eyes to find yourself in a lab once more looking around. You saw Jean-Marc puffing away at his pipe before he made eye contact with you and smiled. “Bonjour Nathan!” he said in his thick French accent. “How can I help you today? Its not everyday I get a visit from you.” Jean-Marc said as he set down his pipe.

“I wanted to practice my time magic but no one has ever learned time magic before me and I thought since your a physicist and a scientist perhaps you could help me out?” Jean-Marc smiled as he refilled his pipe before speaking. “Oui j’ai a aider tu Nathan.” He said in French you only hoped he said agreed to help you.
