Your mother in Jacqueline's body walks in on you.

You hear an "oh my!" and suddenly realize that someone is standing in the bathroom doorway. You jerk your head around as Jacqueline tries to cover herself. You see your mom (in Jacqueline's body) standing there, blushing and averting her eyes.

"Jackie...er, uh, Mom! It's not what it looks like," you start to say.

"Gerry, Jackie, don't apologize. You're not doing anything wrong. It's my fault for barging in. I came up to get the rest of my things. When I knocked and no one answered, I assumed you had gone out. I'm so sorry," she says, turning away.

"Katherine, wait," Jackie calls out. "Don't go. We should talk. Just let us throw something on."

Your mother waits in the bedroom while you and Jackie dry off and put on your robes. Your emotions are confused and tangled. You're not sure what to think - in a way you feel like your wife just caught you making out with your mother in the bathtub. But in reality, it's your mother who walked in on you with your wife. You thoughts are in a whirl.

Jackie takes your hand and you walk into the bedroom to face your mother. She's sitting on the bed looking rather fetching, having dressed Jackie's body in a bikini and coverup. She speaks as you enter.

"Actually, guys, I'm glad to see you together. I was afraid you wouldn't be able to get past our change in bodies. You are perfect for each other and deserve a chance at happiness."

Jackie responds "Thanks for being so understanding. I wasn't sure how you would feel about Gerry and I being together, considering I'm in your body."

Your mom shakes her head. "How could I be upset about that? For all I know we may be stuck this way. Even if we can find a way back but I don't expect you to put your life on hold until then. "

She pauses in thought, then continues. "We do have alot of things to work out. We don't need to deal with it all now - we have the next week to discuss it - but we should start with some simple things."

"What do you mean, Mom?" you ask.

She gives her motherly, patient look that seems quite strange on Jackie's face. "For starters, we all need to get used to calling us by the names of our bodies. No one knows us here so it's a good place to practice for when we get back. I am Jacqueline Duncan now, so you both should call me by that name. And you..." she points to Jackie "... are Katherine Duncan. Gerry, you might want to call her Katherine or Katie for now if 'Mom' feels too weird, but you'll need to get used to it by the time we get back."

You aren't too happy with the idea of referring to Jackie as 'Mom', especially given the progress you've made looking past her appearance - but you know that your Mom is right, you'll have huge headaches when you get back home if you don't work some of this out now.

Your Mom looks down at her hand. You see she's wearing Jackie's wedding ring. "Unfortunately you can't wear this now, Jackie - or, I should say, Katie. Even if my body could wear a ring this small, it would raise some questions. But I do have an idea for a substitute," she says. "Did you bring my wedding ring?"

Jackie answers "Yes, I wore your jewelry." She walks over to the dresser and pulls out your mother's wedding band. It's something of a family heirloom, having been your grandmother's. Even though your father died some years ago, your mother still wears her ring.

"Good," your mom says. "Gerry, take the ring and put it on her finger," she commands. You do as she says.

"Now, repeat after me. 'With this ring, I wed thee'," she says.

You say the words. Then she has Jackie take your ring and do the same. "Now, 'Katie', this is YOUR wedding ring, given to you by Gerry. Let it be a symbol of your love and commitment."

Jackie nods with tears in her eyes and says "Thank you."

"No one will wonder at you wearing that ring," you mom adds. "Besides, it's much more expensive than this one," she jokes.

You chuckle at her attempt to bring some levity to the situation. Judging the moment right, you take pull Jackie to you and give her a passionate 'wedding kiss.' When you pull apart, you see a smile reflected in her eyes for the first time since the transformation.
