You Can't Trust Her, Run

A lump forms in your throat. You want to turn but if she really is a vampire that would be suicide.

"I'm sorry Jenny but I swear I'm going to get you help." You run as fast as your legs can take you and you hear a dramatic sigh behind you.

"Run along Morgan, I'll catch up soon enough." She calls from an increasing distance. You round a corner and find a 'Staff Only' door that should lead to the heart of the array. The room is some kind of supply closet with an obviously mismatched tile on the floor and you pull it open with a great deal of effort. Below is what you recognize from the drawing as the heart of the array, a flat metallic circle encasing a very volatile core. You grab a prop sword laying against the wall and bash against the core with the pommel, again and again until something cracks.

You see a hairline fracture in the metal, just enough for what needs to be done. Your hands shake as you unscrew the lid of the water bottle and turn it upside down over the core. You know this may very well kill you but this is the best chance of stopping whatever is going on here and saving your friends. You hear sizzling as smoke begins to pour through the crack and then there is a pop and a flash and you lose consciousness.
