Sebastian and the Great Evil battle for the fate of the Realms
Chapter 39: The Battle of Gods
I felt powerful. I felt godly. I felt GOOD. The Evil exploded from the ground and threw a huge clump of earth at me. I caught it with air magic and tossed it aside easily. But the Evil’s shortswords were hurtling at me. I tried to swipe them aside, but found they were immune to magic.
I rolled out of the way and the ground burst up under me, sending me flying. I pushed and the decayed trees were uprooted and hurled at the Evil. He snapped and they all turned to ash. He flew towards me and I cried out as the Evil kicked me into a tree thirty feet away.
I dropped like a stone, and was sure my back was broken. I reached back and healed it with a touch, but then a blade was swinging towards my neck. I whipped around so the black shortswords clanged harmlessly against my aegis chestplate. I sent a push at the Evil’s jaw and I heard it snap, and then drove a push into the Evil’s sternum and he went flying, landing a little bit away.
I scrambled to my feet and sprinted towards the Evil, and leaped like a superhero before bringing my fist (and a push) down onto the Evil’s stomach and I smashed him into the ground. I clapped my hands and the ground sealed shut.
Well, that was easy.
Kidding.
The Evil burst out of the ground, grabbed me by the neck and with barely a thought, hurled me at the Neverpeaks rising in the distance. I screamed as I flew through the air against my will and closed my eyes as the Neverpeaks came closer. And then I stopped. I opened my eyes and found that I was in some kind of glowing web.
The wards! They’d saved my life. I scrambled out of the web, and brought the earth up to meet me, and I stepped onto it, and slowly let it fall. The Evil was waiting for me when I was back on level ground again. He clapped.
“Ingenious.” he applauded.
“Thanks?” I groaned. He punched me in the face, just a normal punch, really. I staggered.
“I hate you. Very much.” the Evil said.
“Why?” I groaned.
“Because of you, my Mistress escaped and she helped that elf bitch seal the wards. We’re trapped.” the Evil growled.
“Could be worse. We could be dead.” I pointed out. The Evil laughed without humor.
“We can’t die here.” he said, and snapped my neck. To my surprise, it righted itself instantly.
“I’m immortal?” I gaped.
“Immortally punished. We’re stuck. No escape for us.” the Evil shook his head, “And now we don’t even have a woman to play with!”
“So... I’ll never get old and die?” I asked fearfully. He shook his head.
“Nope. We’ll be in this Hellworld until the end of time.” the Great Evil sighed. I sighed, too, and flopped down onto the ground. The Evil joined me.
I glanced at him.
“You ever heard of Tic-Tac-Toe?” I asked him.
