Cleaning off in the pool

My head swam as she continued kissing me. I wasn't sure how long the kiss lasted but Alice suddenly Jumped up and off of me before walking towards the pool, "You going to stop yelling now? You realising that it was just a kiss, it's nothing special, just like the other night we were only looking, it's not a big deal?!" she called back.

Just a kiss was what I got caught on, because that was anything but 'Just a kiss' It felt like the best kiss I'd ever had, it wasn't that Alice was extremely skilled or anything but something just made it different from the other kisses I'd ever received before and it kind of scared me.

I had sat up and just stayed on the grassy floor for a moment before I was suddenly splashed by water, "Hurry up Robin, the water feels amazing, I can almost feel the salt washing away," Alice beamed at me.

I shook my head, 'I'm blowing this out of proportion, it was just a kiss and it's got to be this isolation that's messing with my head' I thought. I stood and headed over to the shore where Alice was, she dipped her head into the water before spitting the water out like a fountain, "Alice! Don't drink that!" I yelled in panic.

"Don't worry, I know when I shouldn't swallow... I just had a little taste and spat it back out," Alice teased.

I groaned and shook my head again before heading into the water, she was right the water did feel good it was warm but not hot and I could almost feel the salty coating my skin had begin to rinse off. Which made me sigh, "This feels good, we should probably bring the shower bag up here it holds the most amount of water out of all the containers we have," I thought out loud.

"We never have to use that thing to shower again, that waterfall will be a great shower to have," Alice laughed.

"Well maybe, but the camp shower is convenient since we can use it back at camp," I replied.

"Why would we not just walk here to use the waterfall, though? If we are both going to shower anyway it would be easier to do it at the same time and that way we only need privacy for going to the bathroom," Alice reasoned.

She had a point. I don't know why but I was still very conscious about us being together while on the island, maybe I was just scared that if I lost sight of her for too long she'd vanish and I'd be alone, or maybe it was because I didn't want anything to happen to her and being together meant that I could minimise the risk of that, either way this idea did appeal to me, but that meant showering with Alice, and although that also appealed to me I knew we couldn't do that, it was bad enough as it was. I was struggling not to think about her without showering together too. I sighed heavily and rubbed my face, "I'll have to think about it, you have a point but... Just... I'll think about it."

We rubbed ourselves down with the clean water in silence, we then both air-dried, pretty quickly too since it was a very hot day, then we dressed and gathered our things. We were about to head back in the direction of the beach when Alice pointed towards the shallow river, "Why don't we follow that and see where it leads? I'm sure it will go to the ocean and once we get back to the beach we should be able to turn right and follow the shoreline back to camp," Alice suggested.

"Uhm, yeah good idea," I mumbled.

We Followed the river but it seemed to be going wide from the direction of our camp. The river was maybe a metre and a half wide but the water only reached the top of our ankles, we had decided to walk in the water to cool off soon after we started walking and it was a good idea. Continuing until we broke out of the tree line, the mouth of the river was mostly obscured by rocks, and it would be pretty hard to tell it was there unless you were right up on it. Once at the beach, we followed the shore for a while we reached our camp and I immediately got to work on getting food.
