Put it to a Vote
They displayed the book onto the rackety table, crowding around it as the pages remained blank, patiently waiting for more questions to be asked. Early birds peaked through the fogged window, glancing in at the number of odd individuals in the small household. Back outside, Felix and Dimyri helped push a tied up Raz into the wagon. Next, She climbed up and proceeded to help push the crates down for her beloved to carry back inside. Once the crates were settled in, four of them total, Dimyri impaled the sword she took from Raz to break the first one open, revealing numerous valuables inside.
As she began to get to work opening the next one, Janette began to continue her planning session with their little meeting.
"So we know where Perdilius' hideout is. KuliKuli, if you would do the honors."
She grinned and thanked her friend. "Ahem! The Nekomata's Perdilius had kidnapped, are they all alive?"
OF COURSE
"Yes!" Syri beamed, hugging her two sisters and jumping around. Janette shushed them down.
"Stop it! No celebrating yet, we barely asked." The girls calmed down and giggled, with Syri wrapping her paws around her waist pulling her in for a side hug. Janette grumbled and blushed, patting her hair gently. "Just saying, we still have a lot left to do."
"Okay fearless mommy, lead the way."
Felix and KuliKuli smirked, staring at their friend. She brushed her hair back, red-faced and empty of thought or comment to retaliate. "R-Right. Aah, anyways... where was I..."
"You were laying out the steps to our big rescue plan." Dimyri giggled.
"Stop that." She glared, unable to break Syri's hold as she shook her head no each time she tried to push her off. Janette sighed and decided to continue with her little speech anyway. "Well, as I was saying... we need to think carefully what our next plan of action is. They have the kitty cats, and Emyri, Na'Vi and Reta. Felix, do you mind sharing with the others what you had mentioned in private?"
"Not at all. We were a bit behind you guys when we went down the escape tunnel last night. Things were looking bad when they had caught you, so Emyri set up a little plan. She said she would put herself out there and grab their attention, and that there was a very real possibility she would stay to hold them down while we escaped. We didn't plan on Na'Vi staying too, that threw us off."
"Wait." Syri interrupted. "Mom and the wolf girl wanted to stay?"
He nodded. "In case someone had to stay, yes. Your mother gave me this."
He then placed the charm on the table for them to see. "Janette?"
"It's a Monster Hunter charm, totally belongs to your guy."
KuliKuli tilted her head. "The hunter?"
"Yup! Turns out mom has another secret. You can try asking about it."
Dimyri frowned and reached for the open book. "Why does Mom want us to work with the hunter, do they know each other?"
They glanced down to watch the ink on display.
THAT IS A GOOD QUESTION
"Right." Janette smacked her lips. "See the book only knows as much as the user does by touch. Because Emyri never held the book, it doesn't know her thoughts and secrets."
CORRECT
"And asking about the hunter won't help much because of that either."
KuliKuli raised her paw. "But it told us what his name was, how did it do that if Mom didn't touch it?"
She snapped her fingers. "I'm betting you are to blame there. Must be your memory before your incident where everything went blank. It would also stand as to why it refused to tell us about Reta's friend's status, it doesn't know because she didn't know and neither did we."
Felix asked. "So then we should figure a way to get the hunter and approach him somehow, no?"
Janette scratched her head. "Which leaves us with a difficult choice. We could go after the hunter..."
"Assuming he's not with the meanie." Syri added.
"Or we could go for the other Nekomata and beat him to his house before he gets there."
Dimyri placed a finger on her chin. "This is hard, what choice is the correct one? We could go rescue our sisters or grab our close ones first. Dang, this is what mother had meant."
Felix held KuliKuli's paw. "So let's put it to a vote then?"
Janette shook her head in agreement. "Okay, but whatever we decide on we need to act fast. Chances are they're coming after us right away, so staying here another night isn't the..."
Syri's ears perked up. "Wait, what if they do come here? What if we stay and wait for them, or-"
"Or we could beat them to it and leave them with a surprise?" Dimyri smiled, catching on.
Felix chuckled. "This is good, are we still voting?"
"Yes of course." KuliKuli smiled. "All hands and paws, raise up if we vote to catch a hunter!"
"Raise them high if we go rescue the litterbox." Felix asked.
