Complications
"Ambush." Perdilius remarked as he felt the slick cut on his cheek. The mystery woman quickly dug back behind the foliage and fauna, keeping to the darkness to keep hidden from them. One soldier took aim and fired his arrow only to impact the bush and nothing more.
"She's running around." He mentioned, the third Nekomata blanky staring at him with pink glowing eyes. Another arrow launched, this time striking a soldier from behind, directly in a revealing spot where the armor did not meet. When the father turned around, the mother was nowhere in sight.
Another arrow hit the hand of another soldier, forcing him to drop the torch in his hand before it quickly set the ground ablaze. The men jumped up and danced around, trying to stomp the fire out or evade it. It reached one of the horses who with a loud neigh startled the other horses and quickly pulled the wagons hard, running into the crowd and splitting them.
A fourth arrow fired off, this time the hunter deflected it with his sword. Dimyri ducked and held Janette's hand, pulling her away. More arrows shot one after the other, apparently causing further disarray to the crowd. Someone crashed into the Nekomata, relieving KuliKuli of the weight keeping her to the ground. Looking up, she quickly launched forward to crash onto the other cat, freeing her little sister away. Syri scanned the area with wide eyes, keeping low on all fours before finding Janette and Dimyri.
"What's happening?"
"I think we're being saved." Janette replied. She yelped when someone pulled them away from the group and pushed her into the back of a wagon. "Let go of me!"
"Easy, it's me!" Felix cried out, grunting against her soft blows to his arm and chest. Syri hugged him from behind, squealing with Janette gasping and breaking into a smile. "Whoa, nice to see you too. Hugs for later though!"
"Right, I'm on it." Janette turned around, climbing over the boxes and clothing to reach the front end. "Someone needs to man the reins!"
"Glad you're on it." Felix turned around to see Na'Vi grip one of the possessed girls neck with her two thighs and land on top of her, knocking her cold. KuliKuli was struggling with her kitty, being locked with an arm around her neck. Her face was going red, when suddenly two tails coiled around the Nekomata's face and pulled her back. Coughing, KuliKuli spun with a hard kick to the gut, launching her away. She grabbed at someone's paws to help lift her up on her feet.
"Thanks mom." She coughed and patted her chest. Emyri pulled her away as one soldier was knocked back hit the ground with an arrow sticking out. "Whoa, she's scary."
"Scary wolf, yea that fits." Syri mumbled before climbing up into the wagon. Dimyri grabbed on to lift herself up too when Perdilius appeared and pulled her back, throwing her into the ground. "Sis!"
"So, not just a lover after all. Raz, grab her." He ordered. Raz approached Dimyri and helped her up, keeping his hands to her arms. Perdilius had now reached in, grabbing at Syri's ankle with her struggling and kicking at him. "You're not going anywher-aah!"
He winced and dropped to his knee when Na'Vi spun around and slashed at his back hard. KuliKuli gasped, expecting him to falter and collapse. Felix held his breath, with Emyri watching wide eyes. Na'Vi glanced at her paw, noting the claws had lost their sharpened ends when the father spun around and gripped her hair. She yelped and tried swiping at him only to miss the reach as he pushed himself back up, glaring furiously before throwing her hard into the hunter's arms. Behind him, the marks were present for all to see that their was something reflecting the light from the fire under his robe.
"Not quite deep enough. Hunter, dispose of her. I'll grab the little one."
Leone turned his head to Na'Vi who looked back at him with a pissed off look, his hold keeping her arms bent behind her. He looked back to him a d shook his head. "No."
"Mm, why not?"
"Better to use her to command that they stop firing at us."
Perdilius rubbed his head, lifting his palm. "Sure, why not. Ask your friends to cease fire, else we kill this one. I go with my pick, you keep your lives in your cage of choice. The gods will be pleased." He grinned, turning at Raz and Dimyri. "Raz, chain her."
"Oh, yes sir!" He fished around, searching for the chained cuffs in his belt. Dimyri took the chance to strike her elbow into his stomach, running off when he reached in and grabbed her arm, locking the cuff over her wrist. Grunting, he quickly sealed the other cuff to his own wrist, locking them together much to her displeasure.
Perdilius grinned as he walked her into the wagon. "Excellent work, now we've just the two which remain." He scanned the area, catching sight of Felix, Emyri, KuliKuli, Na'Vi, and Syri atop the wagon. The grass kept plenty of soldiers hidden beneath it, victims to the archer still out there. "The archer, call her off."
Emyri closed her eyes and breathed. "Felix."
KuliKuli and Felix watched her extend her claws suddenly. "Look after my girls for me."
Just then, Janette grabbed hold and whipped the reins hard, pulling the wagon which held Syri and Dimyri and Raz were in. Felix pushed KuliKuli and ran towards the cart, with Reta shooting a final arrow with rope attached to it into the air, Emyri catching it between her teeth and running circles around the priest.
"Mom!" KuliKuli cried once she climbed in.
"Get the girls!" Perdilius called out, grabbing at Emyri as they faded into the darkness.
