Forest Brawl

Rachael and Neku looked around the area for signs of any stalkers nearby, though the thick leaves prevented them from seeing much. Rachael’s right ear twitches from hearing something, a Buneary’s ears being sensitive. “On our right!” she warned her just as she saw a hail of seeds shooting out toward them. They barely had time to dodge out of the way .

Seeing where the attack was shot from, Neku then gathered spectral energy in his paws and launched Shadow Ball towards the tree. The figure leapt out of the tree and landed in the center of the two. They looked to see that the attacker was a Grovyle. The figure was taller than Rachael , but shorter than Neku. He was a slender figure as most wood gecko Pokémon would be.

He looked at the two of them side to side, orange-yellowish eyes staring at the two. “I’m surprised that you were able to dodge my attack. Granted, I made a slight blunder with a light branch, but I was still hidden.” the grass type stated, having a calm male voice.

Rachael was annoyed at the fact that they were attacked out of the blue, but wasn't trying to start a fight and tried to reason with him. “Why did you attack us? You can tell that we aren’t infected.”

“I can tell considering you’re both don’t share those feral violet eyes, but it doesn’t matter.” The Grovyle then turned his attention to the Pachirisu, then stared at the two older Pokémon with a grimacing look in his eyes. “It’s not bad enough you would rob others for supplies, but now you’re even **** children?!”

“What? ****?” Neku asked as he went and looked down to Kate. “Wait a second, you got the wrong idea. We didn’t-”

“Don’t try to lie to me. No reasonable person would let a child pass here without checking out the camp up ahead back there.” he stated accusatory. “So what’s she for? Bribery? Extortion to get food and/or supplies from her parents.”

‘Clearly this guy dealt with some bandits who did something like this…’ the Buneary thought, walking forward. “Please listen to me, we’re just-” she was **** to leap back to avoid the long leaf the Grovyle swung at her.

The illusion fox grumbled as he moved toward the grass type, claws powered with spectral energy. The Grovyle side stepped and delivered a leg sweep to the Zoroark. Neku winced in pain as he stepped back, wincing from the pain as he scratched the Grovyle with his claws.

Rachael ran forward towards the two. “Wait, stop! We’re just trying to-” Rachael noticed his stems were lengthening and moved back from the Leaf Blade, just barely scratching her. Figuring she’ll need to fight him before they can talk, so she retracted her ears and lunged them to him, but the Grovyle leapt over her and tried to strike her, but she crouched and headbutted him. He recoiled back, but recovered fast and slashed at her with Leaf Blade, knocking her down.

Rachael was dazed as she hazily saw Grovyle walking towards her. He stood over her form as her stems grew once more, intending to finish her off with Leaf Blade...
