Other Side of the Bridge

Having been **** apart with you by the collapsing bridge, Rachael, Neku and Kate continued on the road. The Pachirisu was fidgeting as she walked on in front of them. Rachael went to pat the squirrel on the back, "I know you're worried, but don't panic. Your brother will catch up to us. us in no time. Until then, we’ll look after you.” That got a smile out of her as the three of them continued.

After a little while, the Pachirisu states that she needs to rest her legs, so they decided to do so at a small open plain. They do make sure to keep their eyes open in case of any sounds that they hear. You look at the sun to see that it was in the afternoon now. “Hopefully we’re near the spot Rai told us about. He was the one with the map after all.”

Neku looked at Rachael and walked towards her. “Can I talk to you for a minute?” he asked and lead themselves a bit away so Kate can't hear them, but at the same time to watch her.. "I don't know if you noticed, but infected Pokémon don't just become feral and vore/lust hungry."

"They don't?" Rachael asked, wondering what else the Zoroark could know about what they'll be dealing with.

"For some reason, infected Pokémon not only get stronger, but they're more energetic than normal Pokémon. They'll also become stronger the more they consume Pokémon." Neku explained.

That made Rachael concerned, it was tough enough dealing with them already, but they may even become stronger? After he explained, she looked at him. "What are you trying to say?"

Neku crossed his arms as he looked at her. "I know you don't want to think this, but Rai is alone on the other side. Even if he escaped the infected pack on the bridge, he wouldn't get out of that unscathed. And there are non-infected that prey on others. He's no slouch in a fight despite his age, but there's still a possibility that he won't make it here. If that were to occur-"

"Don't go saying that. They may be tough, but he's smart. Rai isn't gonna let himself be eaten by any infected or predator." Rachael stated, having faith in you.

"I don't want to count him out either, but we can't simply wait at the specific spot forever."

Rachael opened her mouth, but didn't speak. She doesn't want to admit it, but Neku's not lying either. They had made some close calls just trying to find a survivor camp. "Let's give him 2 days. We can at least wait that long."

The Zoroark sighs at the response. "Alright, but if he doesn't show up by sunset or even in the nightfall, I'm bringing you both back to camp, like it or not."

Rachael nods her head, gripping her paws a bit tightly before they heard what sound like a twig breaking. The two of them snapped up and looked around.

"Kate, come here." Rachael told the Pachirisu and she got up and went to them. Each of them looked around and tried to spot what was making that noise, but couldn't see through the trees for any silhouette.

Suddenly...

1. Something shot out towards them

2. Something swooped from the trees
