Season One: Songs of Sand

Season One of "Ka-ren the Barbarian" follows the plot line of the character's first graphic novel, "Songs of Sand".

The outdoors scenes where filmed in the deserts of Australia. Most indoors sequences were recorded in a studio in Tokyo, and others where shot in ancient buildings and ruins in several locations in Europe and Asia.

The season consisted of 10 hour-long episodes. Besides Adrianne Palicki and Maisie Williams in the main roles, the cast counted with many international stars, both as supporting characters and as special cameo appearances.
