Getting acquainted with your guide

"My... guide?" John asks with the fairy responding, "Yes! Every newcomer is given a guide to show them around the world for a year before the guide is given a new assignment".

John is almost speechless, "So, you're gonna show me around?".

"Yep. I will show you how to get around this wacky place, after all, it may be pretty but it's equally as dangerous. Anyway, you should get up because we've got some travelling to do" The fairy explains.

John notices an ecstatic tone in the fairy's voice, wondering if that's because she's genuinely excited or because guides are supposed to sound that way. Either way, John gets up to his feet. He begins wiping the dirt from his pants as he then sees that he's still shirtless and currently shoeless as he was literally dragged from his bed which makes him ask, "I can get clothes right?".

"Yeah! We're going to a nearby town so keep up!" The fairy then flies off and John quickly jogs before catching up with the fairy, "So, where are we going exactly?".

"Oh, a nearby town called Reduna'z Gaze, it's kinda like a hotspot for nature lovers and hunters. They come out into the woods and search for all kinds of plants, creatures and even treasure".

"Treasure?" John asks with a surprised tone.

"Yeah. It's more for those half-assed adventurers looking for loot from the poor souls who got swallowed up, both figuratively and literally. It is still dangerous of course but not like real adventuring".

John takes a mental note to never wonder in the woods by himself before asking, "So, there's a lot of adventurers?".

"Oh gosh yeah, it's a ripe world for plundering. Monsters pop up from out of the Network all the time, usually with bellies full of gold, silver and armour covered in innards" The tiny woman responds.

John is actually intrigued, he's in a world of adventure, should he become one? He wonders, however he snaps out of his delusion as he remembers a key point in the fairy's explanation.

"Wait, what's the Network?" John asks.

"Oh, the Network is like a series of systems going from one end of the world to another. They're usually the quickest way to travel but the most dangerous since that's where almost every monster spawns from. You can find a lift in almost every town but it'll cost you quite a bit of silver" The fairy once again explains.

"Makes sense for the risk" John comments.

"Yeah, in any case, I would avoid them mostly" The fairy advises.

"Thanks for the advice" John remarks.

The fairy twirls in excitement, "Of course, I am your guide after all!".

John simply nods as they continue forward, but then he realises something, he doesn't actually know his guides name, so he asks, "Hey guide?".

"Yes human?" The fairy responds.

"What's your name? I don't feel right about just calling you guide or fairy".

The fairy then stops before saying, "Oh.. my.. H'nod!".

The fairy puts her head in her hands, hiding the shame, after a few seconds, she pops back up to say, "I am so sorry. I'm your guide and I've already failed the first and most simple task. My name is Lannielli but you can call me Lani".

Lani sticks out her hand toward the much larger man, John looks and for the first time, really examined his new companion. The fairy stands maybe eight inches tall, wearing what appears to be a blue dress with bright white wings at her back.

Just then John puts his hand out and says, "I'm John, John Doe" Lani sees the huge hand in front of her and decides to use both of her hands to try and shake his index finger.

The two then let go and Lani turns slightly, giving John a chance to see his guide from a different angle. He sees that she's has a shapely figure with perky breasts but manages to rip his gaze away as the fairy turns back toward him, "Okay, now we're finally introduced, we should continue on to Reduna'z Gaze".

"Alright then, lead the way" Just then, Lani begins to fly off with John walking beside her as the duo make their way toward their goal, Reduna'z Gaze.
