The Gnolls run off after Emmaline

The overlapping chaos of so many howling and panting voices faded off into the distance as the two dozen or so Gnolls clambered off after Emmaline. They practically piled over one another, tripping and clawing amongst themselves in a **** bid to be the first to make use of her gorgeous body. For now, that promise of satisfaction at her behest was just that--a distant promise.

It wasn't until several long, drawn out moments passed that Liv finally started to move from her post. She felt a little stiff, but far, far better, she imagined than she would have felt had the Gnoll's recognized her presence. The yapping sounds of their gleeful hunt had long since faded into the distance by the time Liv finally spoke up.

"You still down there, Becky?"

"I... I hope Emmaline's going to be okay," came Becky's response. The cute little alchemist poked her head up out of the underbrush, that increasingly familiar expression of worry etched into her features. "This isn't going according to plan at all..."

"I was supposed to be focused and ready when they got here," Liv said. She swung the rifle into a strap over her shoulder and started working her way down from the tree, hopping down from one branch to the next until she reached the ground a short distance from Becky. "Instead, I was talking to you."

"Look." Becky said. The nervous apology only lasted on her face for the briefest moment before it was back to that permanently affixed concern. "Fuu is in trouble and now, maybe Emmaline is too. We need to help them, alright? I... I probably can't do it on my own."

"No, probably not." Liv sighed. Was she really going to get in over her head for these people? Fuu seemed competent enough, and if she couldn't take down the Gnoll's leader, would the rest of them really be able to pull it off now that they were down a person? Potentially even down two?

Liv frowned. Becky's eyes were filled with worry, but even though she was asking for Liv's help, it somehow didn't feel like a question. There was a stony determination behind those bright green eyes. At the end of the day, Becky wasn't really asking for help at all. "We need to save Fuu."
