Rematch! Hunter vs. Nekomata!
Both members stood still, eyes locked onto each other with neither one backing down. She could still remember the hit to her gut that night, the humiliation of being so helpless and brought to her knees. Just watching him take her sister away and scold at her futility. The scratch on her cheek remained, a reminder of their first encounter for her.
He's the one, Felix thought to himself as he took in the man's image. Tall, lean muscle build, his skin showed plenty of sun for his complexion and the look of his eyes seared daggers into his target. He looked young, older than him he would bet but still a good look for his age. However, something about him just felt... cold. His eyes, the frosty white hair, the way he spoke to her, it lacked humanity almost as if he were an empty husk.
To think KuliKuli took him on by herself once and couldn't land a scratch.
The sword remained tied to his waist, a reminder of his skill and something to focus and worry about in battle. Which, Felix was afraid to admit, might become a possibility now. He could sense it, even Na'Vi was hissing at him.
The woman looked back and forth, puzzled at this awkward staring contest. "You two have history together?"
"You could say that, she's lost something."
"Someone." She corrected him, her tails revealing themselves to pull away her hoodie. Her cat ears flickered and pointed up high, with the saleswoman stepping back at the sight of them.
"Oh! I see... I'm not going to stick around for this so whatever you two are doing, do it out of my shop."
Leone leaned back and stretched his arm out, yawning. "Nothing to worry about, just a lost kitten is all. And some customers..." He looked past her to see Felix with a black cat on his shoulder, scowling at him with golden-yellow eyes. A mutation he recognized.
"You brought friends, it's like you did the exact opposite of what I said. Why are you here?"
"Why do you think?"
"Leave. My employer will be arriving any moment, if he arrives and you two still remain then I've no choice but to take you in as well. And the boy." He mentioned, passing a glance at Felix.
"We know about them, they aren't arriving just yet." Felix bluffed, praying that Syri did good on her promise.
This definitely caught his attention judging by his eyes flaring up. "What the hell are you doing, do you know what you're up against or did you forget that as well?"
"I forget a great number of things, it's kind of a privilege." She smirked. "You get to forget the bad things as well. Hoping we forget about you really soon when I get my sister back."
Leone stepped forward and onto the dirt, hand gripped at the handle of his blade. "Final warning for you all to run."
"I'm done running." KuliKuli replied in a brusque tone, pulling her floppy sleeves back to reveal her paws and bending her limbs as she prepared herself.
"Do you recall our last physical encounter?"
"Painfully, and I told you then that you're the one who should be scared." She growled before revealing her claws. Both Felix and the saleswoman stepped away as a number of people opening shop had their heads turned to them. Several of them gasped at the sight of a monster girl, with Felix feeling worried about the sudden exposure. This wasn't a part of the plan, but what the heck.
The plan was never solid to begin with.
Syri grunted and lifted her foot, kicking at the wooden wheel carefully so as not to hurt herself. Her arms tightened their hold and she was beginning to feel funny in her tummy. Not a good time to get sick, but still she pursued. Another kick to the wheel, this time much stronger.
CLUNK!
Perdilius looked outside the small window to his passenger seat, having heard that strange noise from outside. The driver, the young looking soldier up front had also turned his head to meet his.
"Do we have a problem, Raz?"
Raz looked around, puzzled and gave his boss a shrug. "No clue sir, the noise sounded like it came from below. Maybe from behind?"
"Possibly." He muttered before noticing his pet growling and rattling the cage quite furiously. That made him raise an eye.
CLUNK!
Again, they both heard the sound and this time several of the men on horses riding beside them also turned their heads to the carriage. Perdilius looked at them. "Where is that noise coming from?"
"I think it's from your carriage sir, might be a loose wheel."
Syri growled and lifted her foot, channeling her anger and frustration with every bad thought in mind she could muster, the last one being from the sudden awful stench Janette carried with her when she returned from laying with another.
"Damn it!" She yelled before delivering a final blow, knocking the wheel loose from its lock. Alarmed, she held on to her hold for dear life as the carriage now began to jiggle and sway. Most of the men now parted away, gaining their distance with Perdilius alarmed and holding on inside. Raz felt the sudden sharp shift of motion and pulled back at the ropes in his hands to seize the horses' movements, but it was too late. The wheel spun away and the carriage fell sharply onto its peg, dragging for some time before turning over and falling on its side.
The loud crash echoed beyond several houses with Felix and Leone turning towards it. Felix felt nervous, heart racing. Whatever that was, he knew who caused it and wished things were going well on her end. A noise like that should definitely stop them on their track for sure, buying them time. "Thanks Syri."
"Syri?" Leone looked at him with shock before catching KuliKuli yelling sharply and leaping towards him, claws out in front like before. Though caught by surprise, he evaded her the same way as before, rolling to the side this time. KuliKuli nearly swiped at the saleswoman who cried in shock, only to catch a large ring with several keys swinging by it on her claws instead. Turning around, she threw the ring at Felix and refocused her attention on the hunter, with Felix running into the shop with haste.
"My house!" She called out, before screaming and falling back as KuliKuli kicked up dust and charged at the hunter, swiping at his chest only to catch his blade instead. He looked concentrated, keeping his sword to resist her claws with an open palm at the end of the blade to prevent himself from gripping at the sharp edge. She was gritting her teeth, pushing at his sword with her other paw before focusing on pushing the blade down. He swung away and took a few cautious steps backwards, trying to regain his footing before being attacked by her once more. She wasn't letting him have a chance to focus this time.
Felix looked around inside the building, noticing his vision sort of shift and change as the muscles in his eyes began to concentrate. It was dark at first but suddenly he was able to see again. "Whoa, cat eyes. Cool." He remarked.
"Felix?"
"Mom?" He called out, following her voice before finding mother and daughter behind a barred door. "Oh my gosh, Dimyri?"
"Hyu-mane!" She cried out, beaming and flashing her teeth as her eyes lit up. Emyri smiled and felt herself glow inside as her son unlocked the door and crouched to hug them.
"Aw, so I'm your mommy now?" She purred, with Dimyri and Leone pushing her away making her chuckle. Felix noticed the chain on her leg before fumbling with the ring of keys at hand, trying each key on her before one finally turned and freed her.
"Got it, let's go!"
Back outside, KuliKuli was running circles around the hunter on all fours before pouncing at him, with Leone bending his knees and grabbing his sword, swinging to focus the impact on her by the handle like before. Only this time, something else dashed at his legs and kicked him from below, causing him to fall over and hit his face roughly on the dirt. Coughing and looking up in surprise, he saw an angry Na'Vi standing beside KuliKuli, both girls glaring at their prey.
"This won't be the same as before. This time you lose!"
