“And that is how to count to 20!” Gabby informed Mimi and Yatina, both of whom had blank stares on their face. Drool ran down their mouths as their eyes were clearly glazed over. Even Bob, Ssssssteve, and Ssssshantel mirrored Mimi’s look, despite Bob’s very cute school uniform Mimi had made for him when they learned Gabby was going to tutor them. Mimi’s neck finally gave out and her head collapsed onto the desk Gabby was able to get made for her little classroom.

THUD

“OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!” cried out Mimi as she rubbed the center of her forehead where a red welt had appeared.

“WHAT WAS THAT?!” yelled out Yatina as she was suddenly jolted back to reality thanks to her best friend’s sudden injury. Yatina looked around until she saw Mimi clutching her head. “MIMI! ARE YOU OK?!” asked Yatina as she flew over to her friend’s desk to look at the injury. Yatina’s eye just barely floated above the derpy gorgon’s head as she looked at the welt on her head. “It looks owied!” determined Yatina.

“Yeeeesssssss!” pouted Mimi. “It huuuuuurts!” she squealed as Yatina gave the injury a lick to help it get better.

“Now, now, girls!” Gabby announced as she slithered her way over to the two young derps as they tried to fix the booboo. “Out of my way, sweetie,” Gabby said sweetly as she picked up Yatina and placed her on top of the desk next to Mimi.

“But! But!” started Yatina before she was interrupted by Gabby.

“Your butt is to stay on that desk while I help your friend, ok?” she explained to Yatina who nodded in defeat as she puffed out her cheeks at being sidelined. Gabby looked over Mimi’s cute little head and saw the small swelling of her injury. Gabby noticed the saliva of the dragongirl that was left when she licked Mimi.

“You know, naga have a lot of magical powers,” Gabby said as she placed her hand over the welt. “We are naturally at our best underground or in water. It’s thanks to that water affinity that we’ve gained some magic skills that let us heal others with water,” she explained as her hand glowed for a few seconds. Once the glowly died down she removed her hand to reveal a perfectly fine forehead for a cute little gorgon girl. She leaned over and gave Mimi’s forehead a little kiss. “There! All better!” she proudly told the girls with a big smile.

“YAY! DERPSITTER GABBY IS THE BEST!” the two derps shouted in unison as they jumped at her for a hug. Gabby caught both of them as she moved backwards as they came at her so she did not topple over with the two. The two hugged and patted her as she carried them out of the room and out of the school to the castle town. The naga put the two derps down on the ground.

“Since you two did very well today at tutoring, what do you say we go on an adventure?!” asked Gabby. Mimi and Yatina turned to each other with giant smiles.

“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” The two derps made a high pitched noise as they turned to face their derpsitter. “IT’S ADVENTURE TIME!” the announced as they ran off towards the forest. Gabby let out a small chuckle as she quickly chased after the two girls, always making sure to have them in eye shot. The two skipped hand in hand through the Warden’s Fall Forest.

“So girls, what animals do you see here?” asked Gabby, who intended to turn this adventure into a learning opportunity. The two girls stopped in their tracks, narrowed their eyes, and then spun around back to back to scan the section of the forest they were in.

“Umm. I see a deer over there!” Mimi pointed in front of her as she spun around.

“There’s the little tree rat thingy!” said Yatina as she pointed to a squirrel running up a tree.

“That’s a squirrel, Yatina,” Gabby informed her. “So, what’s it called?” asked Gabby to make sure the young dragongirl learned the word.

“Fluffy squirrel! Fluffy squirrel! Fluffy squirrel!” Yatina shouted as she pointed to every squirrel she saw as she spun around.

“Very good! Now, what else do you see, Mimi?” asked the naga derpsitter.

“There’s a bird! A pigeon!” Mimi said as she pointed to a large white bird.

“I can see why you’d think that is a pigeon, but that bird is far too large to be a pigeon. That’s actually a caladrius, and it’s said they are able to heal any ailment.

“Wow! Really?!” asked Mimi as she continued to scan for more animals.

“Yep! They are very elusive so it’s hard to know if the legend is true or not, but many people who were sick and alone in the forest swear they were saved by them,” explained Gabby. Mimi nodded as if she understood what Gabby said, but Gabby was not 100% sure she did.

“Ooooo! A horned horse!” announced Yatina as she pointed to the creature that was grazing in a clearing not far from them.

“Oooo! I wanna see!” Mimi said as she spun around and jumped on Yatina’s back to look over her head and see the creature.

“Oh! A unicorn! I don’t think anybody has mentioned seeing those in the forest before! We’ll have to report this to the king later,” Gabby told the girls as she, too, watched the majestic creature graze.

“A unicorn?” asked Mimi.

“We get to tell John?” asked Yatina.

“Yes and yes,” answered Gabby. “Now, what else do you see?” asked the responsible naga.

“Umm...I know what I wish I could see! A dinosaur!” said Mimi.

“Ooooo! I wanna see some of those too!” confirmed Yatina.

“Now now, girls! Dinosaurs existed here millions of years ago. They aren’t around anymore. Now, there is an island full of them off the coast of Europe but that’s under strict protection from the various mage guilds there,” explained Gabby.

“Aww, but we want dinosaurs!” the two derps said in unison as they made pouty faces.

“I know, girls, I know,” Gabby said as she got down to their level and gave them pats on the head.

“Maybe if we keep walking we’ll find some!” Mimi said as she sprung up and began to walk forward.

“Yes! I bet we can find some deeper into the woods!” figured Yatina as she chased after her best friend.

“Oh girls, you won’t find any dinosaurs here!” Gabby repeated herself as she chased after the two.

The trio traveled further into the forest for a good five minutes until Gabby saw something she knew she should not see in the forest.

“DINOSAURS!” the derps yelled as they ran to the nearest one. The triceratops was quite startled when two small creatures jumped onto its back. The creature quickly ran around in a circle, scared for its life, until it realized the two things on its back meant no harm. The triceratops went back to its grazing as the two derps patted its head and hung off its horns.

“What? But how?” Gabby asked herself as she looked around. As she looked over the forest she noticed the flora was not the same as before. It was as if the entire forest had gone back in time, plants, animals, everything. “Wait...John did mention that sometimes they could do strange and amazing things...Is this what he’s talking about? Those two somehow able to take us back in time cause they wanted to see dinosaurs? This is crazy!” Gabby told herself as she watched Mimi and Yatina play on the triceratops.

“Let’s go, Tonky!” Mimi said as she patted the triceratops’ head.

“Tonky? THAT’S SUCH A COOL NAME!” appreciated Yatina at her friend’s naming of the triceratops. Tonky, oblivious to the derps on its back, decided to move a few feet forward and eat some more leaves.

“This is so much fun!” proclaimed Mimi as she sat on the back of Tonky.

“This can’t get any better!” Yatina said as she hugged Tonky, who continued to wonder around and eat leaves from the plants. Suddenly, a ferocious roar broke through the laughter of the derps and startled Tonky. The terrified triceratops stomped off through the trees as its enemy broke through the treeline and headed straight for it.

“Oooooh! It’s a tryanno...toorano...tyrono….” fumbled Mimi as she tried to remember the name of the dinosaur that was chasing them.

“The T-Rex! That’s it’s name, right?!” asked Yatina as she remembered back to the time she, Mimi, and Miho had read the book of dinosaurs.

“Yeah! That one!” Mimi said happily. “So, what should we name it?” asked Mimi as she began thinking of names for the hungry dinosaur.

“Well, you got to name Tonky, so I get to name this one!” Yatina told her best friend.

“Aww, but I had a good name!” a dejected Mimi said. “But it’s your turn, go ahead, Yaya!” Mimi encouraged.

“Yay!” Yatina said as she switched from excited to thinking hard. She scrunched up her face and rubbed her chin as she raked her derpy brain for a name for the T-Rex that was chasing them. “Oh! I got it!” Yatina said as she jumped up in joy.

“What is it?! What is it?!” asked a very excited Mimi.

“Fred!” said a very proud Yatina, who even puffed out her chest as if she just thought of the best name in the world.

“Yeeeeeeeees! He’s totally a Fred!” agreed Mimi.

“Freeeeeeeeeeeed! Let’s be friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiends!” yelled Yatina as she jumped from Tonky and towards Fred’s gaping maw. Fred continued his charge towards his potential food until Yatina landed on his nose. Fred immediately stopped his chase and shook his head in confusion.

“What are you doing?!” asked Mimi as Tonky continued to run away.

“Hugging our new friend!” Yatina said as she squeezed harder on the T-Rex’s nose and rubbed her cheek into the tip of the nose. The confused dinosaur sneezed a few times thanks to the placement of the hug. “What is it, Fred? Do you want some pats?” asked Yatina as she crawled over the muzzle of Fred and onto his head. Once in place, Yatina performed her 1000 Pats technique on Fred.

“NONONONONONONONONO!” a very hysterical Gabby said as she followed the dinosaur tracks. “Who knows what King John will do to me if I get the derps killed!” a worried Gabby said as she continued as fast as she could to catch up. “I mean, this guy was able to defeat the Order of the Golden Rose! They are one of the top guilds in the world and he beat them in an all out battle! He’ll probably kill me and then have roasted naga or something!” Gabby got into her head too much as she started to make up crazy scenarios of how John would punish her when she finally caught up to Mimi, Yatina, and the two dinosaurs. What she saw was something she never expected to see ever.

“Look! He likes his belly rubbed!” Mimi said as she sat on Fred’s stomach and began to rub it. His left leg began to shake and his tail wagged as he enjoyed the belly rub.

“That’s so cool!” Yatina agreed. “Now watch this!” she said as she ran across Tonky’s body and then slid down his tail until she was launched off it and landed in a pile of leaves.
