Time to settle in

The pair had barely made it to the bottom of the ladder when the entire world seemed to shake, throwing them both to the ground.

The sunhat that had somehow made it down the ladder flew off Wendy's head, her golden hair fanning out as she hit the ground.

"Jesus," Wendy swore, rubbing her head,"I think it's a good thing I didn't pause any longer, thank you so much!"

"It's no problem, Ted built this thing to be used, it's just too bad neither he or the kids could make it. I hope they are far enough away from the blast..."

"I'm sure they are Dolores, I'm sure they are." Wendy muttered softly, standing up and hugging the other woman comfortingly.
