Look for a way to escape

As Leanne lay on the bed she thought about her predicament. Everything that she’d been through was thanks to the strange doctor. Did she really want to just lie there and wait for whatever he was planning next? As much as she needed the rest, Leanne couldn’t risk being exposed to yet more deviant fantasies.

Carefully she slid from the bed as quietly as she could. Her body still ached and she grimaced as she moved towards the door. The young woman eased it open and peered through into the main office. Dr Seward was sat busily working at his desk with his back towards her. If she was going to escape she had to be quick.

Leanne sneaked through the door, trying to open it as little as possible for fear of a creak giving her away. Her heart was pounding fast as she snuck across the floor. Her heels clicked with each step and she scolded herself for not removing them before. Slowly she made her way closer to the door and her escape. However, before she could reach it she saw the door handle move as someone prepared to enter.

In a panic Leanne’s eyes darted around the room. She saw a nearby cupboard and hurriedly dove inside with the door closed as quietly as possible behind her. She held her breath as she crouched inside the confined space, listening carefully to what was going on outside.

She could hear two voices talking. One of the obviously belonging to the doctor but it wasn’t clear enough to hear the other. Soon the voices became louder as they argued, the second sounding very irate. Whatever they were discussing was obviously serious, but inside the cupboard it was all too muffled to know what it was. Then there was a loud noise followed by eery silence. Leanne jumped and clamped her hand over her mouth to prevent herself from screaming. She was worried the beating of her heart alone would give her away but everything was silent.

After a few minutes she carefully nudged open the cupboard door. There was no sign of the second person in the office, however, Dr Seward was there. Laid face down on the floor, not moving.
