VR Day 4 - Go to the Swim Camp

You and the swimmer girls finally reach the swim camp. All the buildings are closed up the lights on because all the swimmers are staying indoors. You and Viti are still cold, but hiking and moving helped warm you up. You didn't die from the cold.

Jill leads you onto a pier where a speedboat is waiting.

"Is it OK for us to take this? Coach Wong won't be mad?" Rebecca asks.

"I hope she is," Claire snorts, jumping in and sitting down behind the wheel.

You and Viti get in as well. You can see the island. It's not even far away, but you can't swim in water this cold. Jill starts the boat and on a nicer day this would be fun.

"What do you need here?" Jill asks you, shouting because the speedboat is loud.

"Buried treasure," you say.

The journey only takes a couple minutes. Claire slows down, but there's nothing to tie the boat to. She stays at the wheel as you and the others jump down and wade ashore, freezing your feet and legs to the knee... today is harder than a big day of training and games. You just want a warm bed and a nap. And food.

Viti takes the lead now that you are here, taking you all to the spot where you found the map. It's just like you left it.

"You were serious," Jill says, surprised.

Viti grabs the map and tears it. The second she does it, thunder rocks the sky and you all jump and look up... but that was it. Just loud thunder. Viti tears the pieces, then tears them again and throws them away.

"What was that?" Jill asks.

"Um... an evil magic scroll?" you say.

Jill looks confused. She looks up, then shrugs. "Are you good here?"

"Yup. We can go back to our camp."

"The lodge," Viti corrects. "We are going to the lodge."

"The lodge is that way." Jill points across the water. "On the other side of that hill."

Thank goodness it's so close. You return to the boat, and still freezing, and speed away from the island. Claire cranks up the speed... it's not like there's traffic, and she obviously likes driving. Viti grabs your arm to hold herself steady, and you look at the sky... there's clouds up there, but no rain. Maybe you imagined the thunder when you guys ripped the scroll.

There's a sudden jolt as the boat hits something. You are suddenly splashing into the freezing lake. The icy water shocks you, but you open your eyes and try to swim up, but there's someone there... a big figure in the dark water with glowing eyes.
