VR Day 4 - !

You and Viti both scream and turn around, scared by the sudden sound.

A trio of girls emerges from the woods looking curious. They are all your age, but unlike you they are dressed right for the weather with jeans and jackets. There's a redhead and two brunettes, one with a short bob and the other with a pixie cut. The first one looks bold, and the second one looks shy.

"Oh God you scared us," Viti says.

"I see that," the redhead says.

"Are you OK?" the bold brunette asks.

"We hit a rock," you explain, pointing to the messed up canoe.

"You guys are from the soccer camp, right?" the redhead asks.

"Yeah. Who are you?" you ask back.

"Swim camp," the bold brunette tells you. She points at the woods. "It's not that far away."

The swim camp is on the lake. You're close at least.

"We have to go to the island in the lake," you tell them.

"What for?" the bold brunette asks suspiciously.

You and Viti are not sure what to say. You can't tell them about a magic scroll. They will think you are crazy. Or if they believe you they might want it for themselves. You have to think of a lie... but you can't.

"I don't want to say," you tell them.

The three girls look at each other... they don't trust you. Why are they so suspicious? Actually, why are they out here? It's cold... but it's Sunday. The swimmers are probably off, just like you soccer players are. Are they hiking for fun?

"We'll come with you," the bold brunette says.

"Just to make sure you make it there OK," the redhead agrees.

Great. They think you are up to something, but you don't have a choice. You can't get rid of them... and you could use the directions. Maybe it will be a shorter hike through the woods than it would be to follow the water.

"OK," you agree. "Thanks."

They lead you into the woods and you and Viti shiver. The girls introduce themselves. The bold brunette is named Jill, the redhead is Claire, and the shy one is Rebecca. They seem nice... but kind of serious.

You catch Viti checking them out. Jill has a nice body and Rebecca is pretty cute, but Claire has something mysteriously sexy about her. Maybe it's her confidence. Jill is confident too, but it's not the same. They must be good swimmers.

You and Viti are not drying out in the forest under a cloudy sky, and you hope you won't die of hypothermia. It's lunch time, so you and Viti are both hungry.

Claire tells a joke and you laugh, then trip. You cut your arm on a thorny vine, and it's bad enough to tear your sleeve and make you bleed. Jill helps you stand back up, and Rebecca sprays your arm with something cold from a can that makes the cut feel better... today is a hard day.
