Chapter 10 by brambank brambank

What should Leanne do?

Just hand him the towel

Leanne thought it might be a bit too soon to be getting involved with Dan like that again. She still had no idea how to explain what had happened to him and she wasn’t so sure she wanted to risk him turning back into that lust-filled beast. Not that she was complaining too much at the time.

Leaving him to get dried Leanne returned to the bedroom hoping to find something he could wear. However, as she stepped out of the bathroom she saw they were no longer alone. Standing staring at her from across the room was a guy in a creepy clown costume.

"I really don't need this," she mumbled to herself.

“Are you, um… Is this your room?” she asked nervously. There was no answer from the clown. He just stared silently at her. His breathing heavy through the sinister mask. “We’re sorry, we just needed to use this room. You see, my friend, he’s one of the staff members here, he needed to rest after an accident with one of the residents.”

There was still no answer and Leanne was growing more creeped out by the second. Not just was the mask incredibly disturbing but the way he stood silently staring at her just made her skin crawl. If this was some kind of Halloween joke then it wasn’t funny.

Her eyes noticed the open doorway and she immediately began edging towards it. She was almost there when the clown began to step forwards, narrowing the space between them. Leanne’s heart began to beat faster and she waited for the clown to grab her when she heard Dan’s voice call out from the bathroom. They both turned to look in that direction before Leanne took advantage of the momentary distraction and made a dash for the door. As she stepped out into the hallway she glanced about her. She had no intention of dealing with that creepy clown and figured Dan would be better at explaining himself than she was. It would give her more time until she’d have to tell him what happened earlier too.

There were doors all the way down the corridor, if she wanted somewhere to hide all she had to do was pick one. She could also just get as far away as possible. As much distance between her and the creep seemed like a good idea right about now.

Leanne looked to her left and then the right. Everything looked pretty much the same. She knew the clown was still close and if he wasn’t focused on Dan then he’d probably be coming after her.

Where should Leanne go?
