The room in front

Leanne had no idea which room Dan had told her to go in, so she just went for the nearest. Opening the door in front of her, Leanne saw some kind of office. There were desks with piles of paper all over. Most of it strewn around in a disorganised fashion. At the far side of the room was a figure hunched over a desk muttering to themselves.

"Um, hi," began Leanne nervously. "Is it okay if I come in?"

The figure looked up, surprised to see another person. He was wearing a white lab coat and had a pair of glasses placed on his forehead. The collar of his shirt was loose at the top and his tie pulled down indicated a stressed demeanour. His hair was fair and despite the furrowed expression on his brow Leanne guessed he was in his late thirties or early forties.

"Yes, yes," replied the man somewhat hurriedly. "Come in, come in."

As the man went back to his work Leanne stepped into the office. She was a little surprised that he hadn't mentioned her lack of clothes yet. "I'm Leanne."

"Dr. Williams." The man was tapping his pen on a notepad as he responded but failed to look up from his work. He was clearly preoccupied by whatever he was working on.

"What are you doing?" asked Leanne inquisitively.

"Trying to perfect my formula," answered the busily working doctor. "I just can't stabilise the coefficient." Leanne peered over his shoulder and her head span just at the sight of the page full of scrawled handwriting featuring various symbols and equations. Academic subjects were never her strength and she had a sudden painful flashback to maths class.

Fearing she would only annoy the doctor is she continued questioning him, and unable to offer any help whatsoever, Leanne took a seat on a nearby chair. She was peering around the room when she felt the doctor's eyes staring at her.

"Are you the volunteer?" he asked. His eyes fixed on her form.

"I'm A volunteer," replied Leanne.

"Excellent!" he responded. "This is what I've been asking for this whole time. Maybe now I can perfect my work." He turned his back and began rummaging through a nearby cupboard containing what appeared to be medical equipment. He returned holding a large needle with a strange looking fluid inside. "Now, if you could just... Oh! I see you already have. Very good." Leanne peered down at her lace underwear. Had the doctor only just realised she was half-naked? "Okay, now I just need to..."

Before Dr. Williams could finish, he was interrupted by the door opening and Dan walking into the room. "What are you doing with Leanne?"

"This is my volunteer," replied the doctor. Blinking heavily as the needle dripped the unknown liquid on his papers.

"I think you're a little confused, doctor." replied Dan. "She's here to talk to the residents today."

"Is that not the same?" replied Dr. Williams.

"Erm... We should leave." Dan gestured for Leanne to come to him and she hurriedly obliged.

"Um, nice to meet you," she smiled as she quickly headed to the door. Back in the corridor Dan handed her a bundle of clothes and she began to dress. There was a dark blue top and a black skirt that was probably a little too short to be wearing in a place like this. It barely reached mid-thigh, but at least it was better than running around in her underwear. "Thanks, Dan."

"No problem." he replied with a smile. "Are you okay?"

"Yea, why?" asked Leanne curiously. "Oh, him. I think he's harmless. Nothing happened anyway."

"Good. So, do you want to go somewhere to relax? It looks like things have been a bit chaotic for you. Or I can show you around if you prefer?" Dan gazed at the young woman while she thought about her options.

On the one hand it'd be nice to relax after everything, plus she'd get to spend some time with the handsome staff member without the awkwardness of being in her underwear. At least for the moment anyway. Then again, maybe there was more she should see around Rosefield Manor.
